Lufthansa A340-600 D-AIHW now en-route to MAN as LH9924. D-AIHB the other A340-600 is currently still on the ground. If I recall correctly, despite the numerous visits of LH A340's, we have never had 2 on the ground at the same time like today.

Its a shame these flights can not be co-ordinated so that the run on the scheduled MAN-FRA/MUC flights, Id certainly pay for a day trip to ride an A340-600 intra-Europe. Today could have worked great for the scheduled flights, D-AIHW could have operated MUC-MAN and if its ready, D-AIHB could have operated MAN-MUC. Could probably save them a few pounds too not flying completely empty, although I have heard the odd cargo container gets put onboard if there is urgent freight of the scheduled flights are running full.

Likewise I'd probably consider a trip myself if they did that. I'm sure they'd be able to sell a few extra seats on top of the normal load if it was well advertised to enthusiasts etc..

Are all of Lufthansa's A340's and 747's scheduled to pass through Air Livery?

Hi Ray,

Yes every single A340, A330 and B747-400 is due to pass through Air Livery at some point.

After this A340, there is yet another LH A340-600 due, and then a B747-400.

As it stands, I think about 3 A330-300, 4 A340-300, 1 B747-400 and 7 A340-600 have passed through, this coupled with the regular B777F and MD11 flights means MAN certainly sees its fair share of Lufthansa widebodies! (We have also seen an LH A380 divert to MAN so a B747-800i would complete the set!

Air Livery are apparently looking to expand the hangar at MAN, this will enable either 2 A340 sized aircraft or 1 A380 sized aircraft to be accommodated. They are currently speaking to MAN to get plans moving. However with a very large scale rebuild of T1/T3 going through a consultation phase, they may have to wait a while, as the AVP and old flybe hangar site which Air Livery want may be a tempo-terminal for a few years!

Lufthansa A340-600 D-AIHW will leave the Air Livery hangar on 5th March.

In to replace it will be OE-LPE which is being delivered to Austrian from Vietnam Airlines and will route direct HAN-MAN. It will arrive 0330 on 6th

In the Thomas Cook hangar amongst others is D-AIAA A321 of Condor and D-AICC A320 of Condor.

Recently departed from the Monarch hangar was G-DHLH B767-300F which routed MAN-LPG.

Austrian Airlines OE-LPE will depart at 1500 tomorrow in a 'bare metal' form, as it is heading for heavy maintence and the lack of paint will help them look for any cracks etc.

It will then come back to MAN later in the month for its Austrian livery.

Im not sure what is coming in between then, as nothing is listed, but, with the hangar over subscribed until 2015 there will obviously be something due.

Next into Air Livery will be an Iberia A340-300 to be painted into the new livery. Should arrive around midday.

Iberia A340-300 EC-ICF is due out of Air Livery at 0900 Friday 21st (tomorrow).

Next in are a pair of Gulf Air A321's tomorrow.

GF9001 1205 A9C-CF
GF9003 2125 A9C-CE.

Both are currently white but will be painted into the full Gulf Air Livery.

After that should be the ex-Vietnam/Austrian B777-200 (OE-LPE) that flew to Vienna with no paint on it whatsoever last week.

In the hanag at the moment are A9C-CE/CF A321's of Gulf Air. They should be emerging over the next 2-3 days for OE-LPE B777-200 of Austrian Airlines to finish its paint job after its major checks.

After OE-LPE, it will then be G-VAIR A340-600 on 5th April to be painted all white as its lease is now up.

It will arrive direct from Manilla as VS814 at 1500.

OE-LPE came direct from Ho Chi Minh city in Vietnam on its last visit, G-VAIR will come from Manilla, if only these were regular destinations from MAN, the departure boards would look amazing!

Many thanks for the continuing updates. I'm not a 'reggie' but I do find the commentaries on each aircraft very interesting.

Condor A321 D-AIAA has left the TCX hangar this morning back to FRA.

Virgin A340-300 G-VAIR is due into Air Livery tomorrow, and then Air Italy B767-300 I-AIGG will follow in afterwards.

Stored on site is G-FBEH of flybe which has been taken out of service.

MAEL hangar:

RAF A330 MRTT G-VYGG
XL France A330 F-GRSQ

Thomas Cook:

Condor A320 D-AICA in a superb retro livery
Condor A320 D-AICJ has just left the hangar

Air Livery:

Air Italy/Meridiana B767-300 I-AIGJ. This is running 3 days late so will be towed straight into the hangar.
Virgin A340-300 G-VAIR left this afternoon.

Thomas Cook Engineering has had 3 arrivals in the last 12 hours.

TCX Scandinavia A330's OY-VKF and OY-VKH and condor A320D-AICL are all dotted around the airport.

RAF A330 MRTT ZZ338 arrived for Air Livery today. It is brand spanking new and only in its brown primer covering, its not even had its first coat of paint!

Its waiting for the Meridiana B767-300 to emerge from the hangar, which of course arrived a day late, so leaving a day late too.

Given ZZ338 is having to wait its turn, it seems Air Livery is well over subscribed as rumoured earlier this year. I think there have been a grand total of 2 days so far in 2014 where no airliner has been inside the hangar, which is no mean feat for a 1 bay facility.

Currently in the MAEL hangar is N718FD an A300F of fedex. Luton normally does the fedex A300's so interesting they sent this one to MAN.

Have had this beauty arrive for paint. 9Q-CDC:

Due Friday into MAEL is another FedEx A300. Arrives 0530 departs Monday 1500.

Yet another FedEx A300 has been sent to the MAEL hangar this weekend.

In terms of Air Livery, G-CELX has in this week after a heavy check which required the paint to be stripped back, and following it in from exactly the same circumstances, Austrian Airlines B777 OE-LPE has arrived this morning to finish off its paint job.

G-VYGJ A330MRTT has been pulled out of the Air Livery hanger in Air Tanker colours.

YA-AQT B757-200 of Safi Airways is currently en-route to be painted into a private colour scheme as G-TCSG.

Air Livery currently has 2 aircraft in.

One is the ex-safi Airways B757-200 which will come out in an awesome black scheme, the second is another private aircraft, B737-700 BBJ HB-IJJ which will be painted into privatair colours.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
