Looking back to 2018 and 2019 Flybe carried this amount of CWL-BHD
2018 - 70784
2019 - 62322

With EI being daily there's just over 52k seats on offer (If daily were to run from January)

As a comparison Easyjet carried 258k in 2018 and just under 280k in 2019.

For CWL-EDI
2018 - 102k
2019 - 111k

BRS-EDI carried around 400k each year.

There's huge potential for CWL-EDI to grow.

Ryanair have never had a big domestic network, but if EDI-BOH is starting as well as BFS growth, it could well be a possibility.

Talk on the other forum, of interviews for airline for a base at CWL, but it now appears that Cardiff will be a city where the interviews will take place. However one contributor on the other forum, has previously mentioned the possibility of a FR base at CWL. Which ever way it goes it's nice to see that the airline wants applicants from Wales. There are plenty of routes where FR would do very well on from CWL.

Would be interesting to know who the airline but i suspect that they're based at Bristol.
Surely in the long run a Ryanair base has to be a goal for CWL especially if they're to get over the 2 million passenger mark again.

BFS has been changed to operated by Air Explore - From further investigation it appears as though all BFS aircraft for Summer 2023 are now Air Explore (Were previously G-registered, operated by Ryanair UK).

That's surprising for Ryanair i didn't think they used ACMI airlines. Plane type will be a 737 800 so no different from Ryanair.

Some BFS flights are operated from other bases (EDI, MAN and 1 of the 2 daily STN flights). And they also show Air explore.
Various other inter UK routes from EDI and STN also showing Air Explore.
Something going on with FR's UK AOC?

Ryanair are using Air Explore aircraft on an acmi basis to cover capacity / fleet availabilty issues. ED operate 737 400's and 800's. Maybe we'll see 400's for a relatively short hop?

Looking at the below schedule i wonder if Cardiff can persuade Ryanair too go to 20 weekly flights with some new routes and extra frequencies for Summer 2024. In the long term maybe the airport can get Ryanair to replace the lost Wizz flights which would put them near the 30 weekly departure mark.
This is what Ryanair will offer from Cardiff for Summer 2023
Belfast International 2 weekly Wednesday and Saturday
Dublin 7 weekly daily flights
Faro 2 weekly Friday and Sunday
Malaga 2 weekly Tuesday and Saturday

There have been reports on social media that the extra flights for the rugby have been full both ways, i know many go over too Ireland for a weekend away during the rugby but quite a lot must also be potentially non rugby related. Just makes me wonder if eventually we could see Ryanair's weekly flights for Dublin in double figures? 10 too 12 weekly?

Would be interesting too know the ratio of Irish too Welsh passengers for the route.

FR have operated 9 services per week in the past, prior to disagreements with the airports previous owners, and at CWL they have not got any competition, from Aer Lingus regional.

I think they are including the returns in this! So for example 7 departures to DUB, 7 arrivals etc so 14+4+4+4 = 26 return flights
Your sums would make sense!

I mean I’d say silly me but it’s more like silly Ryanair

:LOL::ROFLMAO:

Wishful thinking eh!

It's 26 not 25! It's 13 weekly departures overall! Hopefully we'll see more from them next summer and in the winter. But it's nice to see something positive about Cardiff in the news!

Ryanair December 2022 Stats
Dublin 4106 average load 128
Faro 1375 average load 98

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
