reading about the alc route on another forum and comments suggest that the alc route is a wind up. nothing official from cwl airport or ryan them selves.
will have to watch this one if it goes ahead.

Thanks for that. I note that on that forum the poster who 'broke the news' has not yet replied with the source. He/she is usually very reliable when it comes to Ryanair matters and his/her post in that other forum gave timings and flight numbers.

I also note that CWL is denying that there are new Ryanair routes in the pipeline. It may be though that airline and airport are waiting to announce the news officially at some point.

Intriguing video placed on YouTube today by Ryanair pushing 16 places that 'you must see' in 2016. Cardiff is one along with Belfast and Newquay in the UK.

All the airports mentioned have Ryanair flights or will have later this year. BFS and NQY will both begin Ryanair flights in 2016 with the former becoming a base. In fact, some of the other non-UK destinations in the 16 mentioned are also new bases or new destination airports for Ryanair this year. However, one of them, Timisoara, won't commence until November and until then Ryanair will have no flights to that airport, unless something is announced for summer pretty quickly. Timisoara will be a new base from November.

Currently CWL has just one TFS rotation per week. It doesn't seem likely that Ryanair would expect many Tenerife residents to visit Cardiff (no reason why they shouldn't because it's a fine city) so it may be that something else is in the pipeline.

Winter 2016-2017

With Ryanair now announcing growth at many UK airports for next winter including Prestwick where it reduced its services severely a few years ago, I will be very surprised if CWL does not see an increase in the airline's presence as well in the coming winter.

Tenerife - Winter 2016-2017

The booking engine is currently loading CWL-TFS for next winter (from November) and the route is now showing as 2 x weekly (Mon and Thurs), up from once weekly that it has operated year-round since the airline began the route at the end of October 2014.

Confirmed additional weekly flight to TFS. A bit puzzled why they have added this, and not a new destination, maybe a different Canary Island like LPA or ACE, but this will be good for the pax numbers during Winter 2016/17

I think that ACE and LPA are also Ryanair bases so it could have been done. Maybe it's down to aircraft availability at the various Canary bases.

Still, it's good that they have done this. Maybe there will be an increase in flights and new destinations for Summer 2017

I agree about next summer (2017).

I was expecting some expansion this winter though given that Ryanair seems to be increasing its presence at many airports around the UK in winter 16/17. Perhaps the second weekly TFS is not the end of announcements for the coming winter.

Seeing that we are at the end of winter 2015/16, there is always the possibility of further announcements to come, so we'll just have to sit and wait

Heard a rumour from a well-respected FR source that CWL is to see 'an increased Ryanair presence from March 2017'. Not sure how this has came about, but the poster with this info usually seems pretty clued up with all matters FR related, and to be honest this would not come as a surprise in my book.

This is interesting but only a rumour. Nothing is concrete until an official announcement, so let us just wait and see.

I think that many people have been expecting an increased Ryanair presence for a while so it will be no surprise if it happens. To me the surprise is that it hasn't already occurred.

Dublin to Cardiff flights up for sale for the six nations in 2017. Looks like 1 flight on thursday 9th of March, 2 flights on Friday 10th of March, 1 on Saturday the 11th and 2 on Sunday the 12th.

On Cardiff Airports wikipedia page under Ryanair there are 3 new routes Faro(begins 15 April 2017) Girona (begins 30 May 2017) and Malaga (begins 12 April 2107). Noting is bookable so hopefully someone has jumped the gun before the big announcement!

Interesting, although Wiki is notoriously unreliable with this sort of thing and it wouldn't be the first time that CWL has been the victim of spoofers with false route announcements.

If it is a spoof the fact that separate starting dates have been shown for the different routes means it's more elaborate than before, so there might be something in it.

I am very weary of this on Wiki, given the reputation for unreliability of the site. I am sure that I saw MoL stating that he was going to cut back on expansion from UK bases and concentrate on expansion at bases who remain in the EU. I guess we'll just have to see

He did say that Em, but since then major Ryanair expansion has been announced at a number of UK airports including BHX and LBA.

He is giving confusing messages then, but that is no big surprise really. I hope that there is something in this rumour. I am sure if true and they go head to head with VY to AGP then I am quietly confident that there are plenty of pax to sustain both airlines.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
