Sort of forgot about this thread.

Just made a late booking for autumn P&O transatlantic which is a ship positioning cruise returning to BHX mid November from BGI flying on TUI.This is their Friday flight, we are also booked on the Saturday departure in January also showing TUI flight numbers each way so indicates no Norse flights from BHX this winter?

P.S. anyone after a bargain 15 night cruise visiting the Canaries four Caribbean islands return flight to BHX balcony cabin all the bells and whistles under £1200 with dedicated coach from Hopwood services to Southampton get your skates on.

Yes Karl it is a lot of sea days we've done it before we like them and will be in the sun after a couple of day as the ship heads south past Madeira before crossing the Atlantic.
😀

Theres something about sea days that freak me out. Maybe no land to be seen wherever I look. I'd have been an awful pirate 🤣

Sounds like positioning the boat in the Caribbean for the winter. Nice spot.

Yes Jon its a positioning cruise as per my post there will probably be a similar offer next March/April when their two ships return to Southampton for the summer season.

I used to do work for Noble Caledonia. They used to offer places when repositioning boats to in-house staff for next to nothing and then contractors for a very good price.
Rather stupidly, I didn't take them up on any of the offers.

Just back from a week on the Costa Del Sol. Flew in to Gibraltar. 12 minutes from arrival at the airport to complete bag drop and then pass through security at 5am on a Sunday morning. Arrival back yesterday lunchtime also seamless - though we got in before Qatar unloaded their SLF in to the passport queues. Only annoyance is parking on stand 3 but then waiting on a bus for 10 minutes whilst everyone else got off to take you around to northern arrivals. Was home on the sofa (in Solihull) an hour after the wheels touched the tarmac!

Gibraltar Airport was fun - not flown in the before, but the hotel was marginally closer to it than Malaga. Minutes both ways through check-in and security, and a nice outdoor balcony to watch goings on, too!

Easyjet were great, too. Nothing to fault at all!

Apologies if wrong forum, perhaps Random Stuff? Anyway, some may be aware of, or be interested. Here in Valencian region, inc ALC, have read alot of media coverage of late, last 2 weeks, of the need for a 'Carta de Invitacion'. (This can be read if googled!) Basically to keep it short, if you like me visits family, partner etc in their own accommodation, you may be asked to provide this if requested upon arrival at Border Force.
If not staying in a hotel, your 'host' my partner in this case, legally needs to apply via local police station to have me registered with all my details and hers, for me to legally stay. Unclear about subsequent visits at this stage. If accepted, she will be provided with a stamped certificate. If asked upon arrival at ALC I do not have said Original Certificate, not copy etc, in my case I could be deported on next available flight, and my host, 'partner' could be fined upto 9000 Euros!!!! Apparently this has been in the pipelines since Brexit, but always overlooked. Now according to local media/sources, it is to be implemented, and WILL be Mandatory. As I travel regularly through ALC, I shall keep you posted. Not trying to scaremonger, but making those who like me were unaware of this procedure, are aware of the potential laws to be introduced. Ironic about EES from next Sunday, and Border Force being left to be deployed in another capacity????How thorough checks are, i don't know at this stage. If travelling elsewhere in Spain, keep us updated. Thank you.

I travelled through BHX yesterday mid day with Pegasus to SAW. How pleasant not having to wait at all clearing the security/screening. The quickest I've ever experienced. I'll be so glad to see the back of the interior works, it makes the airport look worse than it is.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
