Sadly Aer Lingus are being delayed from restarting there Leeds/Bradford - Dublin service due to the Irish Republic Government Covid-19 travel restrictions. So now they will be flying the new Belfast City - Leeds/Bradford oute before the Dublin route returns.

Even Ryanair are being held back, as they were originally due to go back to daily operation on the Dublin - Leeds/ Bradford route this weekend, its now going to remain 5x weekly (Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat & Sun) until September at the earliest.

trying to decide if this is good old yorkshire humour, or just plain offensive? Words like ‘bent’ are not particularly inclusive.
I actually took the effort to check out that saying, its british slang from the London area, does not bother me in the slightest, im a chill guy me, its just a bit of humour between me and offint haha

Warning!
Some of the recent posts on here are getting way of topic for this Aer Lingus thread.
In the interest of keeping the peace can people avoid the use of words that are provocative. It might also be a good idea if people read the forum guidelines with particular reference to paragraph 2.1

I had an email last night from the Admin team of this forum saying they had had many anonymous complaints regarding my comment.
All I can say there are a lot of sad individuals on here if they were offended by what I said yet people are allowed to insult me by saying I look like Philip Schofield....was I offended, no of course not as it was was in jest. Sad, sad people...
Some, these days are firmly in the easily offended category. Usually no common sense either. The fact they aren't prepared to put their name to any complaint merely re inforces my opinion. They need to grow up!!.. I'll leave it at that

Regardless of who you agree or disagree with, to degrade someone because of their age, race or sexuality is against the law, whether in gest or not. As such it was a clear forum violation. Had we not received any external complaints I would have still had to take some form of action against you. If you choose to continue to post here, your banter is permitted but it must adhere to the forum rules.

Whether we like it or not we have to tread carefully these days and the moderators have to walk that same tightrope but I would give short shrift to anyone who complains anonymously and does not have the courage of their convictions.

Im with you offint (not literally haha) to us it is just a bit of banter but I guess others can be a bit more easily offended, plus the comments are in the aer lingus room which is a bit off track.

It is the function of a forum to able to report a comment anonymously if deemed inappropriate, and there should be no need for a user to have to "publicly confront" others on here, this isn't a schoolyard.

We must remember that this forum is being read by many more than actually post here, and therefore we should all behave as such.

"Banter" isn't being banned here, we just need to remember that what is being said needs to be inclusive to all, and if you're not sure, then re-word it or don't post it.

I hadn't realised Aer Lingus had A321neo in their fleet. It's worth knowing for those who might be looking onward travel.
Yep, they have 4x A321neoLR (to replace their leased in B757-200s and further expand their network to the US and Canada on thinner routes) and 4x more on order. They also have A321neoXLR and A350s on order but they're way down the line yet. Their current long-haul fleet also consists of 4x A330-200s and 11x A330-300.
Aer Lingus operates long-haul routes to only the US and Canada. Next summer, the destinations available from Dublin (and therefore with one-stop from LBA) are:

USA
New York (JFK/EWR)
Boston (BOS)
Chicago (ORD)
Philadelphia (PHL)
Washington (IAD)
Seattle (SEA)
San Francisco (SFO)
Los Angeles (LAX)
Hartford, CT (BDL)
Orlando (MCO)
----
Canada
Toronto (YYZ)

(all above are bookable in June 2021 as an example)

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
