I think it's that it will go onsale from the 25th June this summer.
Yes, Jerry, that’s correct. And I agree it would be unwise of Virgin’s PR department to draw attention to the closure of a route a - so we’ll see what comes with the summer schedule next year.

Seen it couple of times on various social media that Virgin's responses to SFO continuing is that it's stopping. There's not enough spare slack for it be 3 weekly and given the allure of DL's hub at LAX, I'd say the LAX route appears to stand a better chance of going year-round with perhaps enhanced frequency in summer.

My sister flew to San Francisco again yesterday and this time she used Virgin Atalantic, she's returning with BA via Heathrow on Thursday so i'll post anyhting about the return on the Heathrow forum.
She flew on one of their ex Air Berlin A330 200s which is now named Honkytonkwoman. She said the cabin looked old with signage in German and English but that it was a comfortable flight with a good service, before the flight it took her a while to get through security and she was quite surprised that the passengers had to be bussed to the flight as i think she was expecting for that type of flight an airbridge but she was able to take some photos of some 747s while on her way to the aircraft. All in all she enjoyed her flight with Virgin and it'll be interesting to see how she compares it with the BA 787 that she's returning on.

The MAN-LAX flights and MAN-LAS Summer 2019 flights seem to have changed which days they are operating

I was due to fly MAN-LAX on a Mon (10 June 2019) this isn't now operating but is operating on different days (Tue + others)

I was booked on LAS-MAN on a Tues(2/7/19) and this has been changed to a the Monday (1/7)

Can anyone advise on the new scheduling??

Virgin Atlantic have revealed their new cabin for the A330 200s. Each aircraft will have 19 Upper Class seats and 35 Premium Economy seats, i can't find a number for the Economy Class cabin but I'd i guess it was around 180 to 200.

Strange. I've just looked up MAN-BOS for Sep. next year and the 3 x weekly flights are showing no P/E available.
What's the status of the refits and have they changed their mind about P/E?

Oh, June showing P/E and now Sep. also for specific dates. The dates flexible option page I looked at for direct flights in Sep definitely showed P/E not available. Don't think it was me

As far i know they still have plans to fit them with P/E. Whether they'll be able to fit all of them with P/E in time for Summer 2019 i don't know.

Virgin Atlantic S19 Manchester – US service changes as of 26OCT18
Posted 29 October 2018 04:00
Virgin Atlantic in recent schedule update filed additional changes to its Manchester operation for summer 2019 season, effective 31MAR19. Latest adjustment as follows.

Manchester – Atlanta A330-300 replaced by following:
31MAR19 – 22JUL19 744 Daily
25JUL19 – 06SEP19 744 Day x245 332 Day 245 (Previous plan: daily A330-200)
07SEP19 – 27OCT19 744 Daily

Manchester – Las Vegas eff 31MAR19 Increase from 2 to 4 weekly. Planned A330-200 service, replacing 747-400, unchanged

Previously reported changes:
Manchester – Boston eff 25MAY19 Increase from 2 to 3 weekly, A330-200 operating
Manchester – Los Angeles eff 26MAY19 3 weekly A330-200, new route
Manchester – San Francisco eff 25MAY19 Seasonal service cancelled

As previously reported VS will be increasing BOS from 2 to 3 per week and Las Vegas from 2 to 4 per week. Los Angeles replaces San Francisco. All in all an increase, on some days, from 5 to 6 departures.

According to the Airliners.net website the first Virgin A350 is ready to leave / has left the factory, "1st Virgin A350-1041 rolled out from the FAL. To be delivered as G-VLUX ". As these are to be the replacements for the B747's it'll be interesting to see whether they float between LGW and MAN or whether they're based at one or the other

I'd imagine that they would go to Heathrow first which will release the A330s for MAN and LGW plus i think they will be rolling out a new business class product on it and they will want to do that at Heathrow first.

More likely that they'll head to LHR - read an interview with Virgin recently that said they're looking to grow their routes to Hong Kong and Shanghai (both from LHR) and that upgrading to the A350 was one way they could do this.

Maybe when more aircraft arrive we'll see some at MAN and/or LGW but I doubt it will be next year.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
