Great to see the BHX social media team covering todays return of Vueling, showcasing what is available from Birmingham.

This is the only way BHX is going to retain and grow it's services. Important for BHX not to put all it's eggs in a silver and red basket.

More from Vueling please! Still waiting for Rome!

Vueling could be useful if things return to normal in the future. They unfortunately dropped routes in the past ( Tenerife and Paris Orly spring to mind) largely due to the amount of competition at the time. With Flybe gone from the Paris route, there may be an opportunity. Much depends on the Orange airline's future plans?. With Vueling's bases around Europe there might be new route options when the 'new normal ' settles down.

Completely agree, Vueling is definitely one for BHX to work with, so many possibilities.

As you suggested Paris would be great but they could even pick up Florence which was served by BA City Flyer previously. Other previous routes by VY being Alicante, Malaga & Tenerife. But Rome sticks out for me, so few flights available and VY could offer a frequent schedule at reasonable prices.

Does anyone remember why it was cancelled last time? I too remember hearing flights were always full, and close F&F always said it was a great route.

Super happy, Bonne chance Vueling!
I think they downsized their base in Orly as they went through a period of time where they favoured CDG. Great to see Orly back! I'm sure it was 7x weekly the last time so room to grow I think for next summer

Birmingham Airport and Vueling have announced a new three times weekly service to Paris Orly Airport from the 3rd November 2021.

The IAG member airline will operate services each Monday, Wednesday and Friday, offering direct connectivity to this central Paris airport, ideal for short city breaks or business trips.

Flights will arrive into Birmingham from Paris Orly at 0715 and depart Birmingham at 0800 using a 220 seat A321 aircraft.

This is Vueling’s second destination from Birmingham, complementing its existing service to Barcelona which operates four times weekly.

Tom Screen Birmingham Airport’s Aviation Director said: “This is a great new route for Birmingham, operating into the heart of Paris with a successful airline that offers affordable prices and great service. We are incredibly pleased that Vueling, an IAG member, has committed to this new route, increasing capacity to Paris from Birmingham and adding to its existing Barcelona service. We look forward to a successful launch on the 3rd November and seeing Midlands’ leisure and business travellers enjoy this new three times weekly service.”

Tickets are being launched in an extra special campaign price starting at €9.99 on certain days and sectors, and can be booked via vueling.com

From the end of October, day 2 PCR arrival Covid tests will be replaced by more affordable Lateral Flow tests for double vaccinated travellers. From Monday 4th October, passengers no longer have to take a pre-departure test if they have been double jabbed and the current traffic light system will be replaced by a single red list for all travellers.

Great news from Vueling, I feel like BHX is on a roll and every few days a new route can be expected. Lets hope it continues (y)

Without trying to be a party pooper I really do hope that these new routes we're seeing actually stick this time. For too long BHX has gone through a flurry of announcements only for those routes to disappear one by one a year or two later. Fingers crossed things are different now.

Definitely great to see this route back, more capacity to Paris is well needed so it would be nice to see an increased frequency next summer.

Lets hope that the good news keeps on coming :)

BHX website and Twitter on launch of Paris Orly flights

Birmingham Airport today welcomed a new three times weekly service to Paris Orly with IAG member Airline, Vueling.

Flights will operate each Monday, Wednesday and Friday, offering direct connectivity to this central Paris airport. Flights arrive at Birmingham from Paris Orly at 0720 and depart Birmingham at 0805 using a 220 seat A321 aircraft.

This is Vueling’s second destination from Birmingham, complementing its existing service to Barcelona which operates four times weekly.

Tom Screen, Birmingham Airport’s Aviation Director, said: “Paris is a very popular business route for the Midlands so this new Orly service will give our region’s businesses direct access into the heart of France’s capital with a carrier that offers affordable prices and great service. We are incredibly pleased that Vueling, an IAG member, has committed to this new route, adding to its existing Barcelona service.”

Flights can be booked now via vueling.com.

Carolyn Prowse, Chief Commercial, Strategy & Network Officer, said, “I am delighted to be here, and coming home, to celebrate Vueling’s first flight between Birmingham and Paris Orly. Our goal at Vueling is to continue to contribute to the recovery of travel as well as to offer new opportunities for both business and leisure travellers. We know that people want to travel, and this exciting new destination from Birmingham, is precisely in line with our goal. Vueling has offered low fares to Barcelona from Birmingham since 2015 and now customers have great value fares to Paris as well.”

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
