I know its very improbable but I wonder if CWL could persuade Blue Islands or Aurigny, to operate a route to Edinburgh or Glasgow via CWL, it would then give CWL a route to the Channel Islands and more capacity to Scotland.

Unfortunately if the airlines refuse to provide the product people have no other option to look to England
The meaning was that they should use the flights that are available. If they go out full, they will increase the frequency and offer new routes. If airlines can make money out of CWL, they will operate the flights.

I think the real crux is South Wales residents are happy to travel to BRS and until expansion is restricted from there, nothing will change. It may be interesting to ask if any members have flown from BRS when they could have flown to the same destination from CWL

I know it's not likely but I wonder if the Welsh government would be better off looking at some of deal with Ryanair similar to one they had with Qatar Airways to market Wales as a destination and maybe target certain inbound markets.
Certainly. Italy or France would be my first guess.
On another note does anyone think the Vueling Paris Orly route would do better now we’re out of covid times. Maybe timed around weekend getaways to begin with.

Would be great to see SunExpress at Cardiff

Worrying indeed that CWL is not attending Routes Europe in Aarhus next week…

I flew with Sun Express to AYT back in March. Great service, comfortable flight and I'm going with them again in June. Hope they start from CWL 🤞

that’s now the last two they havnt attended. It’s like they have given up.

I'm sure that they haven't given up and i suspect there must be a reason why they haven't attended but also if you look at tourism authorities Visit Wales isn't attending nor is the Welsh government (Scottish government is listed). Also it's possible that the staff from the airport may well attend but just not be one of the official attendees.

Then that's double worrying that neither of those are attending either!

As CWL94 says, as mere observers, it does appear CWL has just given up (on the face of it).

Am not sure just milling around at an event like Routes Europe will be successful...

Anyway, who are we to comment eh? I guess we just wait and see as usual

On another note, CWL have just posted a video on their social media a short 30s clip of what appears to be icebergs with the title "Fasten your seatbelts..."

I’m hazarding a guess that it might be Play to KEF

This would be very "out there" for CWL, but also very exciting.

CWL is now listed on the Play website as a destination (to/from KEF).

Starts 10 October - looks to be 2 weekly

According to the press release it's a "short programme" for the Autumn

Was just going to post about that. It does suggest something possibly a Artic cruise or maybe Iceland?

If the post elsewhere is right then it looks like Play Airlines to Iceland.

The way Sun Express are adding UK airports then surely by 2026/2027 we'll see them at Cardiff Airport!

I flew with Sun Express to Antalya from LGW back in March and as the airline is a joint venture between Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines I was very impressed. I'd rank them above FR and EZY. I'm going with them again in June from BHX. The dates I wanted didn't work from CWL or BRS otherwise I would have flown more locally. Here's hoping they have a presence from CWL in the not too distant future.

Having line maintenance available at CWL with Caerdaf, may persuade some airlines to give CWL an opportunity.
I personally wonder if that will be helpful for a potential future Ryanair base as they have a relationship with Caerdav and any possible expansion for TUI through a 2nd based Avion Express in the future.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
