Antalya has gone up to 5x weekly for next summer with a Sunday flight added.

That's five away based flights each week at the moment with the Sunday Antalya added to Saturday Palma, Thursday Dalaman, Wednesday Antalya and Tuesday Enfidha.

I wonder if they may be tempted to add another aircraft? All of the above could become based flights, there could be a few increases elsewhere and if we're really, really lucky they could add Preveza?

Dunno if already mentioned but Thomas Cook have added night Tenerife flights in November on Friday and Saturday. Mentioned on the "other" forum.

Well why couldn't they just add the flights as extra flights in the morning or afternoon? Or position in an extra aircraft to operate the additional flights.

Night flights in November, will sell especially TFS, are undesirable. Wouldn't it be more favourable/drive yield up with either an afternoon flight OR extra AM service?

They may not have the aircraft especially as they send aircraft to Scandinavia and in the future Canada during the winter.

Apparently TCX has released their New Routes for 2018 blog. Initial look to be pretty impressive with 7 new routes and 11x new weekly flights.

However, we have been here before with TCX last year releasing a totally inaccurate press release. So here is what this says:

New Routes from BIRMINGHAM to:
  • Arecife (ACE) = 1x Weekly (Su)
  • Corfu (CFU) = 2x Weekly (Th, Su)
  • Gerona (GRO) = 1x Weekly (Sa)
  • Heraklion (HER) = 2x Weekly (Tu, Fr)
  • Hurghada (HRG) = 1x Weekly (Mo)
  • Paphos (PFO) = 1x Weekly (Fr)
  • Preveza (PVK) = 3x Weekly (Su, Mo, Th)

I will now leave it up to people more in the know than me as to what this actually means? Is it all spin? Is it accurate? A new a/c based? A response to MON?

Look forward to hearing your thoughts?

Well, it also misses off Enfidha from many UK airports and SEA from MAN, so, I'll go with 'it's not accurate' again this time.

Right this is Confusing....

Can someone look at the Summer Schedule on the TCX which was updated today and see if it was accurate? According that the S17 schedule, TCX operated 19x routes and 44x weekly flights. Can anyone confirm that is accurate????

The routes they claim to have flown in summer 2017 from BHX are as follows:
  1. Almeria
  2. Antalya
  3. Cosmo
  4. Corfu
  5. Dalaman
  6. Faro
  7. Fuerteventura
  8. Gran Canaria
  9. Heraklion
  10. Hurghada
  11. Kos
  12. Lanzarote
  13. Larnaca
  14. Malta
  15. Menorca
  16. Palma
  17. Paphos
  18. Rhodes
  19. Tenerife
I only ask as if that is accurate, their summer 2018 schedule updated today is showing 33x routes and 66x weekly flights. If this is true (which based on TCXs websites history I doubt it is) this would be massive growth for BHX no?

right, then I'm utterly confused.....

Even thought they have called it the summer 2017 schedule, they appear to have removed today the routes which have already ended. This makes its hard to compare like for like routes!

Does anyone have the full Summer 17 timetable to compare?

All seems a bit like Earth calling Mars at present probably best to let them have another go at it.

Looks like another totally inaccurate press release similar to the last one we saw.

Arrecife is not new and is actually 2x weekly, same as Corfu and Heraklion. Girona is new but operates on Fridays not Saturdays. Hurghada is actually 3x weekly on Wed, Fri and Sun. Paphos is not new but is now only weekly as opposed to the original 2x weekly. Preveza was mentioned in the last press release but like then nothing is bookable anywhere, annoying as it'll now be unserved next year. Malta seems to have gone from flight only bookings (and Skyscanner) but at the moment it's still available weekly with a package deal, one to keep an eye on. I make it 7 weekly flights dropped (could be 8 if Malta goes) and 11 weekly flights added so as it stands a net gain of 3.

Comparisons are against last year and this years original release.

Antalya 5x weekly (+2 weekly)
Almeria 2x weekly (no change)
Bodrum weekly (New)
Bourgas 2x weekly (no change)
Comiso weekly (no change)

Gran Canaria 2x weekly (no change)
Heraklion 2x weekly (-1 weekly)
Hurghada 3x weekly (+2 weekly)
Ibiza weekly (no change)
Izmir weekly (no change)
Kalamata weekly (no change)
Kefalonia weekly (no change)
Kos 2x weekly (-1 weekly)
Lanzarote 2x weekly (no change)
Larnaca 2x weekly (-1 weekly)
Majorca 4x weekly (-2 weekly)
Marsa Alam weekly (+1 weekly)
Malta 1 weekly (no change)
Menorca 2x weekly (no change)
Mytilene weekly (no change)
Paphos 2x weekly (no change)
Rhodes 2x weekly (no change)
Santorini weekly (no change)
Tenerife 2x weekly (no change)

Zakynthos 5x weekly (+1 weekly)

Edited to add the weekly Enfidha to the list.

They probably (And TUI) don't even have a clue what they are doing themselves in the wake of the Monarch crash, however they shouldn't put up press releases if this is the case.

Shut up until you do. :rage:

Maybe a coincidence but Flybe release S18 phase 2 tomorrow.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
