Dont suppose anyone on the forum went on the spotters organised trip from Birmingham airport back in the summer of 1983, it was a weekend trip covering most of Norfolk and Suffolk and also some North London, it was done in a Transit mini bus and slept in tents.

Do you think those plane models (images on the other page) are worth getting fixed or do you think it'll be quite costly?

I used to go on minibus trips around that time with BHX spotters think it was Pete driving , not sure whether I went on that particular trip though.

I would say it's probably not worth it because the parts would probably be quite expensive even if they were available . I have heard of wheels and undercarriage legs being available but not sure about horizontal or vertical stabilisers .

I was going to try to send you a private message but dont think I can?

Yep I remember Pete and a few others like Tiny and Wurzle the trip I mantioned was a lot of fun and very fast jumping all over the place in the transit with different chaps jumping out to read off stuff then passing the log round the transit so others could write down what was seen.

Down in rural Herefordshire i am today, yet again, without an email service. And again BT apologises for the current problem and promises to restore the service ASAP.

But posters, who else is without emails today? It would be an interesting exercise to see how many counties, cities and areas are also suffering.

This happens far too often, particularly in the rural environment i live in. Methinks we should recieve some some of compo from BT for the mess they leave us in....

I switched on my computer a couple of hours ago and when I accessed my emails I was met with a notice from BT saying they were having problems. Fortunately for me mine seem to be ok but in the past two or three years BT has been a nightmare with email reliability. I'm that bothered as I'm retired and have no pressing work-related email correspondence. I tend to use Apple Instant Messaging for many personal contacts. However, if I was running a business I'd be more than furious with BT.

I live in Bristol but am not on the main 0117 exchange. My exchange is a steam-driven ancient relic with a 01275 dialling code, with super-fast broadband only a futuristic notion.

I'm with Sky and rarely have a problem.

On the odd occasion that there has been an issue their customer service has been excellent and it has been resolved swiftly.

I do know of others that are with BT and many are not exactly happy.

We used to use sky for TV and Internet until next doors tree (extremely sore point ) got so big it blocked the signal . was forced to switch to BT and have had nothing but trouble ever since . Internet is unreliable, bills are often wrong and to cap it all the TV programmes are by and large rubbish .

In an odd sort of way I'm kinda tempted.......maybe if I was a few years younger

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
