Hi Brum X. Yes I was looking forward to the flying warehouse coming back, but it seems not to be. I wonder i EK would consider a mix of 380 and 777 using the 777 on days whrn passenger bookings are light?

How much of the cargo Emirates carries is destined for Dubai? Would a larger aircraft from Qatar help?

Certainly during the quieter months of the year an A380/B777 mix would still provide sufficient seats for passengers whilst allowing for cargo.

I also wondered if changing the lunchtime flight to a 777 could help the morning flight to be reinstated. 2x B777 and an A380 would provide about 20% more seats than 2x A380's. Having 2 A380 flights and then adding a 777 may provide too much capacity for the morning service to work (c. 35% more seats than now).

It` pax connecting thats the most important bit, if flight times are rubbish because they don`t connect you will lose pax to other operators

There is a suggestion on another message board that Emirates are short of Boeing pilots.

A couple of weeks ago I posted this YouTube link in the Emirates Airlines thread. It's a recent interview with Sir Tim Clark, who is Emirates President and CEO. One of the issues touched on was the airline's shortfall in pilot numbers. This was acknowledged by Sir Tim but he said it was a short term issue and would be resolved by "October, November, December this year" I thought that was a slightly vague answer and it may well be that the matter is taking longer than Sir Tim suggested.

I would guess that about 80% of the cargo would be for on carriage from DXB. I only know what my company send not what everyone else does.

With regards to QR putting a bigger aircraft in while this might assist bear in mind the limitations in place around the Middle East eith regards to their services. For anything to Africa or the Far East then yes it could help.

I cannot see the third flight coming back as it stands unless EK consider a 787 option. Which to be fair would suit cargo agents just as well as a 777 option.

November 2018 has seen 6 new visits by the A388, A6-EDA, A6-EDC, A6-EDN, A6-EOC, A6-EUF, A6-EUT all make their first appearances at BHX

I believe we have now seen 82 out of the 106 Emirates A380s, not bad for an airport our size!
Wish they would all come at once.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
