Actually EK40 departs at 14:20 all summer, so the B77W or A380 will have a turn around time of 1hr 55 mins when operating EK39/40

Does it really matter mate, there can be issues not everything is always on time

And there is usually some 'slack' built into the flight time, so that short delays can be made up en-route.

I don't understand why you think that the staff at BHX gave a 'sensational performance' in getting two Emirates B777-300's to depart on time. That's what they are supposed to do and what they are paid for. It's expected of them. For clarity, here are the flight timings for Saturday's (08/04/23) Emirates departures from BHX (data from FR24) -

EK40 dep BHX 14:20 (on time), Arr DXB 14:57 (23 minutes early)

EK38 dep BHX 21:41 (1 minute late), Arr DXB 07:17 (22 minutes early)

Which ties in with my above comment of 'slack' built into the flight times to account for any short delays.

Emirates time keeping overall is very good, Swissport have got the turn around all worked out, any delays are often not Swissport or Emirates fault.

For those who care todays EK39 left Dubai 76 minutes late and FR24 showing arrival at BHX as 42 minutes late.

Fully expect this disgraceful behaviour will be headline news on the BBC tonight.


As stated in the previous post Emirates performance is good, can't see what the issue is but hey-ho.

Emirates normally parks on stand 54C, but for some reason on Sunday both flights used the neighbouring stand 55C, maybe an issue with the airbridge or some on going work on stand 54C?

I know it’s scheduled everyday at 12.25pm
