Very sad and not looking good. Seems to have been something wrong for some time as 5000ft to cross the channel seems far to low and then requesting further descent.

Yep that does sound odd. Hopefully they ditched safely and will be found!

There are several reasons why it was flying at 5,000ft and wouldn’t want to speculate. Everything appeared normal when it requested a descent to 2,500ft which was the alleged altitude when contact was lost.

I hope for a positive outcome however as time goes by the outlook unfortunately is looking grim.

Six Nations

That was some turn around. I didn't manage to watch it all but I was impressed with Wales' second half performance - the bits I did see but they must have been good all the way through that half. All Wales wil be hoping they aren't peaking too soon for the World Cup with the current run of success.

It was definitely a game of 2 halves! Good win to start the tournament!

Reports this evening that the wreckage of Emiliano Sala's aircraft has been located.

It's so sad. Neil Warnock was clearly devastated at yesterday's Cardiff City match.

Sincere condolences to Emiliano Sala's family and friends.

These sentiments are also extended to the loved ones of the pilot, David Ibbotson, of course.

May both men Rest In Peace.

A Virgin Airbus A330-343X just flew low over my house in Porthcawl.
Checked my plane app and it’s going round and round the channel and Cardiff Airport.
Is it on a test flight?.
My app says Reg G-VNYC, Callsign VIR833T

Wales v England Six Nations tomorrow

I note that Warren Gatland has taken a lighthearted swipe at England's travel arrangements. Apparently they will be travelling by road and will reach Newport during today's rush hour. I'm surprised they haven't flown to Cardiff unless they've been training somewhere between London and Cardiff.

England team bus stuck in major M4 traffic jam - just as Gatland predicted

Bit of fun. I like this side of rugby.

I can’t recall Wales or England rugby teams flying when playing each other in the last 13 years at least. I suppose this is due to the lack of money in the sport or even the fact they are more down to earth.
Probably the latter. Football has reached ridiculous proportions with at least one instance of a team flying betwen East Midlands and Manchester for a Premier League match.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
