Apparently Cardiff Airport refused permission for Gavin & Stacey to film some sort of proposal scene there and some people aren't happy.
I highly doubt it would have a difference. Plus I’m not convinced the Gov have much of a say in the day to day running of the airport, that would be management. I imagine the usual suspects will still be annoyed about nothing!

Fun fact, in series 2 they used the Millennium Centre as the London airport Gavin and Stacey landed at.

Everything the airport does is the governments fault. I suspect the Tories think its some missed opportunity to advertise Wales. Only watched a few episodes and I'm not a fan. Don't see what all the hype is about.
Will be interesting to see if the airport releases a statement.

I doubt they will unless Mr Miller demands that it’s debated in the senedd for some bizarre reason. In any other world/ airport it would be a non issue!

I wouldn't put it past him to ask and question about it as First Minister questions.

I'm glad that Gavin and Stacey is no more. I tried to watch it but I didn't find it funny. Plus I don't like James Corden or Ruth Jones.

So apparently the airport didn't turn down a filming opportunity with Gavin and Stacey. It seems timings was a problem though.

If anyone follows Welsh politics then you'll know about the ITV YouGov poll that came out yesterday for the Senedd 2026 election it's as follows.

Plaid Cymru 30%
Reform 25%
Labour 18%
Conservatives 13%
Lib Dems 7%
Greens 5%
Seat predictions are
Plaid Cymru 35
Reform 31
Labour 18
Conservatives 11
Lib Dems 2
Other predictions suggest the Greens could win a seat for the first time as well.
Obviously this is one poll but in general polling in Wales has suggested that Labour 100 year dominance of Welsh politics could be coming to an end and there's a realistic chance of a Labour not leading a government in Wales.

Which for Cardiff Airport does beg the question of what potentially will a new government do with it? I've personally yet to see a strategy from Plaid concerning aviation/Cardiff Airport but it's still a year out. As for Reform I suspect we won't see any strategy apart from a vague stopping of money promise.

Reform? They will decimate Wales. Anybody voting reform deserves what they get.
Well unfortunately they seem to be polling at 25% hopefully they'll flat line there.
One thing that's just been released is that Nigel Farage won't be able to appear in the ITV TV debates as they've stated only candidates standing for election will be allowed and at the moment Reform have no Welsh leader. The last one left the party and moved to France.

A poll a year before the next Welsh elections shouldn't be taken too seriously. For those who follow politics know a lot can happen in politics in just a week, let alone a whole year. Chances are when the election is much nearer then that will be a better indication of things could be. A lot depends on the turnout too as historically the turnout for Welsh assembly elections is much less than the UK parliamentary elections.

I do agree to an extent but polls in Wales historically have had Labour in the lead but recently have suggested things could change. Still a while to go yet.

So Plaid Cymru resoundingly and surprisingly won the Caerphilly by-election for the Senedd yesterday. Although the Senedd election in May 2026 will be under a different system, D'Hondt proportional representation not First Past the Post, this does give a more real life indication that there's a highly likely chance of a change of government in Wales in May with Plaid Cymru and Reform the favourites. That obviously is going to effect Cardiff Airport. More so if Reform win as they've committed to selling it while Plaid Cymru have committed to keeping it under public ownership.

IF Wales qualify for the football world cup they will be in a group with Canada, Switzerland and Qatar.
The Canada game would be on 12th June in Toronto, Switzerland on 18th June in Los Angeles and Qatar on 24th June in Seattle.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
