I'm a little late but I'd also like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a great New Year.

It sure has been an interesting 2017 with some highs and lows but we're more than used to that. Lets hope that 2018 brings us more positives than negatives. As others have said Birmingham is Boomingham at the moment and we need the airport to follow suit.

I'd like to say a massive thank you to all forumers for their contributions this year, yes, even for the frenzy that we saw in the lead up to the Primera announcement :) The Birmingham forum is steadily growing and it's nice when 'newbies' soon become 'regulars', without you all there would be no F4A.

I'd also like to offer my thoughts and prayers to those who have lost loved ones. I know from experience that this time of year can be especially difficult so I hope that they can find strength during the tough times and know that their loved ones are smiling down.

A merry Christmas and a very happy 2018 to all F4A members from me too!

Thanks to everyone for their contributions throughout 2017. I've thoroughly enjoyed reading many, many posts and threads be they information, discussions, photos, videos or just plain fun. I look forward to many more in 2018.

Cheers all. It has been a great year and I am pleased to have been part of this community.

It is easy to look back at the highs and lows (Monarch) but two things going forward: it is not always Brums fault and by eck this city is going places and it is the city's success that will breed BHXs success.....even if our football's teams are frankly the pits!

Happy Christmas all.

Just like to add my best wishes to everyone for Christmas and the new year especially to wolfheze and Jenny Jet, only been on this forum for a few months but it is really informative and friendly with much info and different points of view without declining into abuse and it's possible to share a joke or two, as I say good cheer to everyone over the festive season as I await to be invaded by the grandkids to help tidy up the house (not).

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas and Happy New year to everyone.

Here is hoping 2018 is a good one for BHX. 2017 saw the loss of monarch and tgat was sad for all concerned so hopefully this Christmas all those tgat lost jobs either have new ones or irons in the fire.

Bhx will survive medium term and no doubt routes and capacity will added to surpas what was lost.

The commonwealth games and hs2 should not be underestimated and will have an effect in giving the city and region a boom and this will only help the airport.

Let' hope 2018 brings us a new CEO and perhaps new shareholders and masterplan release.

All the best and chins up folks its not that bad! Infact the future looks very rosy indeed.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
