Agreed. MAN has done very well to accept 13 diversions.
We were lucky to avoid the snow that was forecast (so far anyway) which affected further south and east than originally predicted.

So these are the sole BHX arrivals flying around Europe
EK39 UAE39 A6-EUY A380
QR33 QTR8DR A7-BDD 787 > left as QR33 QTR8DR
MSA704F EI-FGX 737
FR2082 RYR70QQ EI-FOC

The airport website is already showing EK39 and QR33 as diverted.

Emirates is already heading north from London at 35,000 feet so MAN looks the most likely destination.

Just took a screeenshot from FR24 for the arrivals into BHX, LTN and STN. Practically everything seems to be cancelled!

MAN was flagged as full, but since that flag up have accepted the Ryanair MAD-BHX and now an ASL France Cargo B737 from EMA just turning on finals?!

Wanted to double check it wasn't a random route number attached to a random service but, no it'a bona fide EMA service. I just wonder if word has got out to accept as much as possible. I do wish some of the Ryanairs and the Blue Airs had gone to LPL just in case some space is needed for heavies.

Unlikely to need any more space for heavies. LGW/LHR flowing well so only narrowbodies diverting.

Looks like Rzeszów-East Midlands aiming for MAN too.

If the TUI was a divert, does that make it 20 for the day?
When did that last happen?

Looks as if MAN had a 'can do' approach today and somehow found stands. (Always thought a lot of our a/c were just parked up in winter). And the handling agents must have cooperated too. Excellent response all round.

Moderate snow has been falling at MAN for the last 15 minutes or so. If it persists like this a period of closure for clearing may be required. Fingers crossed we avoid that. Need for deicing also an issue for departing flights.

As stated, MAN has done very well in handling inbound diversions this morning. Handling staff will have had some slack in the system having had a number of scheduled flights cancelled from the Netherlands and Northern Germany due to adverse weather conditions over there. Still a great effort by all concerned though.

Snowing 5 miles to the east of MAN as well but not making too much impression so far. It would be ironic if our evening EK had to divert to BHX, although whether their taxiways and stands have been cleared sufficiently to accept diversions is another matter.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
