Use this prefix for new threads for Manchester Airport
LGW closed again and BHX has had 3 diverts so far and EMA 2 as far as I can tell/
The IBK was on our boards but went to BHX. I wondered if the BA from Turin was coming here but he was still at 30,000 a few minutes ago.

I hope we haven't shut up shop this time.

Ah, looks like LGW has reopened

The BA 2649 from Titana (not Turin!) is our boards and he's descending at last.

Did I also see, before the BAW an EIN NOC-LGW flight "painting" on the ground at Manchester?

You might have done Scottie. Someone on the BHX thread of F4A wrote that an EI was descending on approach for BHX but then climbed again.

The latest metar at 14.20 gives 100m with an RVR of 225m so we're below Cat2 minima.
Needless to say, the met office last night and early this morning were only forecasting cloudy conditions as far as I know but not thick fog.
I would have thought the combination of milder moist air from the Atlantic coming into colder air with little wind provided some pretty ideal conditions for fog.

It's also noticeable that whereas most UK airports have a W or NW breeze of 6 knots or more, MAN is variable at 1or 2 knots.

The weather will clear from North west but still hasn`t arrived in IOM or Blackpool but has cleared in GLA,
east of the Pennines is great.
Looking at the steam coming from the central heating boiler across the way it now seams to have a gentle drift
rather than just going vertical

Mullion, past experience shows that MAN can be notoriously slow to clear on these occasions. The cloud lifted from on the deck at LPL 2 hours ago.

The Singapore Houston to MAN flight got diverted to Heathrow.

South coast and possibly Gatwick may be hit by heavy snow this evening but we have a NOTAM that says:

A0253/19 NOTAMN Q) EGTT/QFUAU/IV/NBO/A /000/999/5321N00217W005 A) EGCC B) 1901292100 C) 1902010500 D) 2100-0500 E) NO FUEL AVAILABLE FOR TERMINAL 2 REMOTE STANDS AND WEST APRON. AIRCREWS TO UPLIFT FUEL FOR RETURN TRIP PRIOR TO ARRIVAL AT MANCHESTER IF REQUIRED

So that effectively stops anything diverting in this evening.

Yes, I saw that and came to the same conclusion. They might as well put out a "No Div" notam, at least until 05.00 tomorrow, unless a diverting flight confirmed he would be night stopping and not requiring fuel until tomorrow, or had declared an emergency.

Very strange weather down Saarf so far most places raining to west except North coast of Corwall which has had snow

There is a front moving in from the far South West that is expected to bring significant snowfall to much of the South West and West Country, as well as parts of South Wales.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
