Manchester has suffered badly from the snow this morning. Pictures from the NATS twitter account show just how much of an uphill struggle MAN have had.

In terms of the aircraft:

BA from Billund went to LBA
Turkish,Finnair and 2xLufthansa went to BHX
KLM, Air Malta, 2xSAS and 1xEasyjet have gone to LPL
1xRyanair went to STN
Saudia went to LHR
Emirates A380 and Lufthansa from Munich went to LGW
BA shuttle went back to Heathrow

SV/EK expected back later, but, the short haul stuff likely to go back home empty.

BA are sending a B747-400 up at 1815 to rescue the pax.

CX358 due to depart at 1200 is only just departing at 1800.

BA1402 has changed from B744 G-CIVC to B744 G-BYGD

Cathay returned to stand andnow cancelleduntil tomorrow as crew are out of hours.
2 Easyjets went straight to Lverpool as MAN is now out of stands (including A380 still here).

Supposed to be a new B787 (G-TUIG) arriving tomorrow. Got a funny feeling that will get diverted.

MAN about to see its 5th airline A380, as AF07 JFK-CDG about to divert in die to crew about to go out of hours.

Will be on the ground until a new crew are flown in.

Todays star divert, thanks to someone called Micheal Herd:

This now means Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa, British Airways and Air France have all sent an A380 to MAN. Not a bad list at all.

Apparently todays Icelandair flight had a tech problem, so has now been towed into the Monarch hangar, with TF-ISD due at 1930 to take the passengers stuck at MAN to KEF.....

Due to yeserdays erranous foam incident, Virgin have had 5 aircraft through MAN today.

G-VSXY A333 is stil broken from yesterday
G-VUFO A333 ran VS110 from ATL then VS109A to ATL
G-VNYC A333 has positioned in from LHR as VS809P and will run VS109 to ATL
G-VAST B744 came from Orlando and will go out to Orlando
G-VROY B744 came from Bridgetown and will go out to Orlando.

Whats interesting is, in order to run a MAN flight, G-VUFO ran LHR-ATL-MAN-ATL-LHR, which caused the ATL-LHR-ATL legs inbetween to be cancelled. Not often an LHR based carrier cancels a LHR flight to prioritise a MAN flight.

Probably easier to accommodate the few LHR passengers on the other VS and DL flights

VS really not having a great time at MAN this week.

After Mondays foam woes, the VS74 broke downroute in MCO meaning that B744 G-VFAB has positioned in as VS809P to run the delayed VS73 from MAN to MCO. G-VFAB is also in the 'birthday girl' colours.

G-VRAY swapped with G-VNYC in ATL.

This means that this week, MAN has seen:

G-VRAY A333 LHR based
G-VUFO A333 LHR based
G-VNYC A333 LHR based
G-VSXY A333 LHR based
G-VROM B744 LGW based
G-VAST B744 LGW based
G-VFAB B744 LHR based

And also means we have seen more LHR based aircraft than LGW based ones this week, which is a first! May be happening a lot this summer however, given ATL is an LHR based A333 route, and LAS will be running on LHR based A340-600's.

The ILS had a bit of a meltdown today, which sods law happens on a day of low viz.

This meant that a few aircraft diverted away.

LH cargo MD11 from DFW and Ryanair from Barcelona went to EMA

Icelandair B757 from Keflavik and Lufthansa A321 from Frankfurt went to BHX.

The Ryanair, Icelandair and Lufthansa are no on their way back in.

Yes typical. The one day of the year so far when I decide to visit the airport and it's foggy. I left sunny Leeds at around 10am and it was 16'c glorious wall to wall sun. Get as far as Saddleworth junction on the M62 and the sky blackened and the temperature dropped to 10'c as we dropped into Manchester's very own micro climate. Still managed to get a few pictures. Just uploading into the forum gallery now.

MAN has takn in 3 diverts today.

BA B767 G-BZHA as SHT9DU EDI-LHR due to fog at LHR
Private A319 HZ-A5 diverted from STN dueto fog
Emirates A380 A6-EDU DXB-JFK diverted due medical.

All still at MAN

Etihad A330-200 A6-EYS diverted in this morning operating EY45 AUH-DUB due to medical situation on board.

SV124 was really delayed today departing MAN, It was towed to a remote stand because they were having problems with the cargo hold. Saudi finally left MAN at 18:45 for Jeddah.

I notice this mornings Virgin Orlando flight diverted back into Manchester. Anybody know what the problem was?

as reported in the roundup PK701 B77W AP-BHV from Islamabad has diverted to Milan Malpensa but i dont know the reason, but has now departed Milan and showing an ETA 23:00 at Manchester

PK701 due at 18:30 from Islamabad has been Canceled tonight its probably because of the flight diverting to MXP last night and arriving at Manchester late.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
