It’s been a great week for bhx

Jet2 winter 26/27 release
EasyJet confirming 5 based at bhx for winter
Wizz air announcing Sibiu
Ryanair announcing Rovaniemi

There might be even more🤷🏻‍♂️

They are? I wish someone would make up their mind. I'm sure I read on here recently that the loads are not good and now they are good.

I can't keep up.
Thanks to the statistics provided by Matt995 on this thread estimated load factors for 2024 are ÷

Qatar 92%
Emirates 80%
Saudi 62%

Wether or not those figures are good enough for Emirates to run a morning flight I suppose depends on how much extra demand it would create although they could opt to drop the A380 and run three big twins.

Turkish who also provide good long haul onward connections ran out at 82% and Air India 86% est.

I do not think there was any change of plan. At my end the MAN fourth daily was being mentioned even before Covid. And the idea that the aircraft has been somehow diverted from BHX cannot be right: the BHX morning service would require an aircraft at 0300, the MAN service at 1700.

I’m more bothered about if Turkish going 3 daily or keeping it at 18 weekly year round and Pegasus daily year round.Them two are flying with numbers to and from Birmingham.

Not fussed about emirates.

Qatar needs a change of frequency or aircraft but I rest my case on that one

In MarchTurkish and Pegasus flew combined around 20,500 to Istanbul while Emirates just over 40,000 passengers an additional 777 on the Dubai route would daily offer 800+ seats more than an extra daily flight by both Turkish carriers combined if its numbers your after.

Personally I think all three can co-exist as they all have distinct strengths.

Agree Qatar could/should increase capacity but that's been the situation for a while, they must have their reasons.

Its truly amazing that every time I look at news about aviation UK, I see new flights to Manchester and now even talks about Bristol to USA but all we ever get is possible new routes to Brum but nothing ever materialises. Something seems always wrong at Brum !!!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
