Looks like the first CUN is tech stopping in EMA this morning
I'd forgotten this route was beginning earlier this year. Is this the first outbound of the season? With Mayfly no more I tend to lose track of daily operations as the BRS website arrivals/departures is not one hundred per cent reliable.

EMA? That's an odd one!

EMA has been used previously in the past. MAN is the standard tech stop, but it all depends on operational requirements on the day. Could be anything from stand/handling availability to EMA/BHX based crew continuing the flight to CUN for the crew changeover.

Should be the end of this winter season. Don't know if the problems with the 737 max will have any affect to it.TUI will have to get aircraft from some where to replace the 757 and the problems with the 737 Max Been reading other forums and mutterings that the TUI Max will be grounded nearly all summer ,and the TUI 737 leased to Sunwing in Canada will be reluctant to send these aircraft back as they got a lot of the Max grounded as well. I can see lots of different types of aircraft and airlines doing work for TUI. TUI might have to bite the bullet and operate some Airbus aircraft,we all know TUI like Boeing type aircraft.

I also wonder if they have a special landing fee rate for it from MAG to lower the cost of the diversion.

So more than likely next could be the last chance to see them at BRS.

They are TUI aircraft so TUI will want them back but it could be that Sunwing might not send over their aircraft like they usually do to bases like Dublin.

Already looks like they are struggling. Well not this weekend but last weekend if you took a look at TUI UK they were operating flights with 7/8 hour delays, no back up. Substituted aircraft everywhere, robbing Peter to pay Paul. All thanks to the CMF operation which didn't go quite as planned. This weekend it works - still some substitutions - MAN PFO MAN a 787-9 which i'm sure is a substitute as a 787 at this time of year to PFO is a bit too much especially as it isn't Summer.

I can see a lot of airlines helping TUI this summer. Titan however have 3 A321 tied up with Jet2 from April/May till October/November so it will be there 757/767 fleet likely to help however it depends on the work already booked in. I would expected 747's, A330's, A340's, 767's, 777's from all over Europe to assist. Not really good for the crew where the planned MAX was.

We know for a fact that EMA was a fuel top up and a crew change. The other thing is seeing its the first CUN flight of the season is a top up of pax or TUI reps.It would make sense for some thing like this as EMA is not a normal stop.

The 2020 cuts are still present and I’ve noticed reports that Newcastle too has had cuts. A bit worrying isn’t it ?

If I remember correctly there is supposed to be an update in April. So I guess it's a case of wait and see what happens.

HER and ZTH are both not available from CWL either so that’s 3x weekly flights not currently available for 2020 also!

It's possible those routes are under review or may be for W pattern with another airport.
I'm sure that any lost routes or flights will be compensated for on other routes at both airports. At the moment CWL looks like it'll still be a 3 aircraft base and I'll be surprised if BRS isn't at least a 4 aircraft base with some Dreamliner flights as well.

If TUI is cutting back a bit for summer 2020 it's in direct contrast to Jet2 that seems to be increasing its summer 2020 holiday route programme at a number of its airports.

Was watching BBC breakfast this morning and a report about the B 737 max. It showed a max taking off and in the background was 2 TUI max all painted and ready to go,except for the modifications to be fitted and tested.

Regarding CUN, it looks like it will be operating from BRS from now until December this year!
1x weekly through April
2x weekly from May to the end of October (it goes 1x weekly mid-June to mid-July as the aircraft operates flights for the Scottish Summer Holidays)
1x weekly November to beginning of December.

It then starts up again April 2020.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
