Wilson James becomes Gatwick’s preferred supplier of Special Assistance Services
The firm secured preferred supplier status following a tender process and was chosen for its passion for service and its commitment to invest in the creation of a new and differentiating service culture for its colleagues.
Contracts have still to be signed but a new provider is scheduled to start supplying Special Assistance Services at Gatwick on February 1, 2018.
No job losses are expected as a result of any change of contract as employees of OCS – the current service provider at Gatwick - will transfer to Wilson James.
Nikki Barton, Head of Terminals and Passenger Services at Gatwick, said:
“Gatwick and our airport partners want to see continued improvement in the quality of the airport’s Special Assistance Services and we are confident that Wilson James can deliver this through investment in people, training and new equipment, and also by utilising new technology.
“I would also like to recognise the hard work and effort of OCS, the incumbent provider who helped elevate our Special Assistance Services over the last 7 years gaining us a “good” rating with the CAA this year. I look forward to working again with their staff as we take this to the next level and provide our passengers with the very best service possible.”
