Looking at the news from a City Regional perspective , given the capacity of the 195's, I can't see them being used on too many untried internal routes except, perhaps Glasgow....where the rail service is wanting. Amsterdam is a must...all the rest might go to sunseekers...although I believe the announcement mentioned two hubs...so, perhaps Frankfurt?

As with Prague that I mentioned earlier Flybe has no Frankfurt flights from anywhere at the moment although they used to. So again it would be a case of DSA being a pathfinder if FRA (or PRG) appear.

The new flybe routes from DSA next summer 2016 are now on sale. 7 new routes launched include flights to Paris Cdg (13x weekly), Amsterdam (1x daily), Berlin (4x weekly), Alicante (3x weekly), Malaga (3x weekly), Faro (2x weekly) and Newquay (3x weekly) whilst the 8th route is the continuation of the Jersey service (increases from 1x weekly to 1x daily)

Great set of routes by Flybe. They might not all see out the test of time but all in all I think they will work well for them.

It's a huge investment by Flybe into Doncaster airport and it's testament to all the hard work Peel have put into the airport upgrading the ILS to CAT 3 and working with transport planners to get FARRS built.

Well it does add up to 42 flight so only 2 missing from original announcement, not forgetting that Jersey was already a DSA route so in effect only 7 new routes.

Apparently Flybe have announced they are to fly to Dusseldorf. I'm sure it will work well for them.

Early reports indicate that load factors are very positive. 95%+ on Paris, while AMS also seems to be selling well. Surprisingly, the early Newquay flights are also seeing healthy bookings. Berlin has been upgraded to daily from 4 weekly for the winter schedule.

Flybe Takes Off From Doncaster Sheffield Airport With Announcement Of A New Route To Dusseldorf:

Passengers from Yorkshire’s Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield have flown off to Paris Charles de Gaulle on Flybe’s inaugural flight from Doncaster, part of an eight new route deal, as the airline announces a new business route to Dusseldorf that will be available for booking from 31st March, 2016.

This morning’s Embraer 195 jet aircraft set off from Doncaster Sheffield Airport to Paris emblazoned with eye-catching Welcome to Yorkshire livery. The aircraft will promote the Yorkshire region to potential tourists across Europe and the UK, as part of the new deal that recently saw Doncaster Sheffield Airport and Flybe announced as the official airport and airline partner of the tourism agency respectively.

Steve Gill, managing director of Doncaster Sheffield Airport, said: “We are delighted to see the first Flybe flight taking passengers to Paris this morning. Our new motorway link road, Great Yorkshire Way, opened just in time for the new influx of passengers, making journeys to the airport much quicker and bringing six million people to within an hour’s drive.”

The introduction of these new routes will see Flybe deliver the largest number of departures from the Yorkshire airport, offering some 42 extra flights per week meaning 500,000 extra new flight seats are available to Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Jersey, Newquay, Malaga, Alicante and Faro.
“We are also delighted to announce that today (24 March) Flybe has strengthened its commitment with a further new route and expansion of its Berlin services. New flights to Dusseldorf are set to commence for the winter season. Services to Berlin will also increase from four weekly to daily, due to unprecedented demand from the Sheffield City regions business community.
”Providing the Sheffield City Region with the business services it needs has long been an ambition and now that these services are here we must see the region voting with their feet and using them. Passenger demand to date has exceeded expectations. This is a phenomenal start but there is still much work to do,” added Steve.

The extra seats will see Doncaster Sheffield Airport experience double-digit growth in 2016 with the additional seats and growth from other incumbent carriers expected to take passenger figures from 900,000 in 2015 to 1.35 million in 2016.

Well I am delighted Flybe are establishing a new base at DSA. Paris in particular is so underserved from this side of the Pennines so I am sure Flybe will do well on the route. Flybe have offered some key anchor routes and I am sure more will follow after this significant investment by them.

There has been much talk about the airline's decision to operate out of Doncaster rather than Leeds Bradford, but to be fair to DSA, the airport has been very proactive in attracting new airlines so I say good on them and good luck to them.

Flybe have just announced a new 1x weekly Ski route from its Doncaster-Sheffield base to Chambery in France. The service will operate every Saturday afternoon with flights commencing from December 17th 2016.

Just having a brief look, the Berlin and Jersey flights look to be reasonably popular. Paris and Amsterdam, as you might imagine, are more popular at the weekends. One thing that has not been mentioned is the onward travel opportunities. Flybe appear to code share at Paris with Air France, providing onward opportunities to Lyon, Geneva, Munich, Nuremburg and Madrid. I am suddenly feeling a trip coming on....

Flybe have just announced a new route from Doncaster-Sheffield to Guernsey. The route will operate 3x weekly in the winter season and 1x daily during the summer months. The press release doesn't seem to mention the fact you will have to change aircraft in Jersey as its not a direct route.

The press release is clever it says connection not destination! I believe they may be doing this from many of the airports that they fly the Jersey route from.
