very true 58terminus, they joke about other company slip ups on their twitter feed but the memes and 'banter' has suddenly stopped! xD

The list of Ryanair flights has now been published up until Oct 28th. According to the list we just lose a few Dublin and Barcelona.

http://corporate.ryanair.com/news/r...r-98-of-ryanair-customers-will-be-unaffected/

“While over 98% of our customers will not be affected by these cancellations over the next 6 weeks, we apologise unreservedly to those customers whose travel will be disrupted, and assure them that we have done our utmost to try to ensure that we can re-accommodate most of them on alternative flights on the same or next day.

Ryanair is not short of pilots – we were able to fully crew our peak summer schedule in June, July and August – but we have messed up the allocation of annual leave to pilots in Sept and Oct because we are trying to allocate a full year’s leave into a 9 month period from April to December. This issue will not recur in 2018 as Ryanair goes back onto a 12 month calendar leave year from 1st Jan to 31st December 2018.

This is a mess of our own making. I apologise sincerely to all our customers for any worry or concern this has caused them over the past weekend. We have only taken this decision to cancel this small proportion of our 2,500 daily flights so that we can provide extra standby cover and protect the punctuality of the 98% of flights that will be unaffected by these cancellations.”

"Ryanair Europe's favourite airline.......??"

An appalling service by Ryanair and statements like that will do nothing for those either stranded abroad or those who were hoping to travel shortly with accommodation already book. It's a very very poor service by them. The mess-up has been covered on social media, forums and in multiple press articles. This will have hurt Ryanair's reputation hard.

From what I heard from pilots on a phone in this morning Norwegian have taken 140 pilots off Ryanair. No doubt other airlines have taken many more.

The issue here is that airlines may be cheap but they must also be fair. Fair to passengers and their staff. Ryanair's business model has been revolutionary within this industry but they have taken it too far and applied arrogance rather than humility. I am glad to see that they are setting aside funds for compensation. But the damage will be lasting.

Looks like Ryanair have removed all there planned Summer 2018 flights programme from been on sale. This dose not just effect BHX it includes every single route, network wide. Also looks like the has been some major changes made to the winter 2017/18 programme from selected bases

No, flights are showing and bookable for summer 2018, it looks like some extra flights have even been added!

They have just realised 500 pilots have left and gone to Norweigan :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Nothing working past March for me either.

It's been confirmed on Twitter that they are reloading flights and they should be available again by tomorrow.

It really wouldn't surprise me.

I wonder if there has been some sort of change by the operator of Sofia Airport. It seems slightly odd that Wizz cut a load of routes (even LTN gets reductions) and now Ryanair are following.

Thirty four Ryanair routes have been suspended for winter but as it stands BHX is not affected.

Blimey. How much holiday do their pilots have?

I've not seen any for a few years.

It seems as if they may have quite a few planes to store somewhere so I guess, never say never.

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
