So whilst we will unlikely ever know what the details regarding the above routes are, am i right in concluding that the AGA/RAK/TIA/LCY are BHX Based aircraft with EU registrations which RYR were using a work-round to use on non-EU routes?

If so, there are two possible outcomes:

a) RYR are working with the CAA to re-instate the work-around and re-instate the above routes, but as flights are taken off sale suggest that there is a real risk, the CAA wont agree?

b) RYR will use the A/C on other routes out of BHX as this is better than those flights/planes standing empty? or

c) RYR will move the flights elsewhere outside the UK in protest?

Are those the scenarios we are looking for?
If it's option C, then it would be a sitter for easyJet to match the amount of based units that Ryanair has based at Birmingham. Hope an airline (EasyJet) sees this gap in Ryanair's greed 🙏

The Bad News: RYR has had to cut 4x routes from BHX
The Good News: It looks like there will be not cut in capacity from BHX over Summer which is a relief.

Still a few slots (I think 5???) to fill so looks like things still evolving but a relief the capacity is going elsewhere...

I believe Bratislava used to have a high load factor... that went!
Most routes Ryanair served or serves have Extremely good loads.
I just don’t get why main ones have been axed.Warsaw being one but it’s on the system at least so that’s positive.
We need like Dusseldorf or Hamburg route.Maybe extra frequencies to Berlin however the Ryanair are having a situation with Germany over tax.

Would like to see Cluj napoca and back at bhx and maybe Funchal or Gdansk in the near distant future

curious to know Ant why you are so obsessed with Ryanair flying to Warsaw? :woot:

In Ants defence, Ryanair currently have BHX-WMI on sale 1x weekly for 2 months which are not during a peak season... that clearly isn't RYR's ultimate plan as such a schedule would never generate profile or demand. The only routes RYR fly weekly are summer beach holiday routes like PFO etc. The question is, what is RYR planning...

Problem with Dusseldorf being operated by Ryanair, would most likely result in a reduction of flights by Eurowings, and as they are at least twice daily, it would not be an improvement, Funchal is served 4 times a week during summer, its only a small island, can't see demand for more flights, im sure Jet 2 would add more flights if they see demand?

At least there’s a few months for potential new routes and extra frequencies 🤞🏻

The other problem with Ryanair operating BHX-DUS is that Ryanair do not operate t/f Dusseldorf. Over the years, passenger demand between UK and DUS has decreased markedly.

Düsseldorf is well served through EW.

Ideally Warsaw full time will follow.

What I wonder are the other options for FR group to get Tirana and Derry in particular in to BHX, 'W' flights or moving 1 x G reg plane to BHX ?

The latter perhaps if they plan to add a 9th at BHX S26?

I have heard that there were plans to put some SP registered aircraft on UK register but are now going onto 9H as there are no plans to increase UK this year and it looks as if the CAA deal to let
them use EI registed aircraft finishes at end of March

I would image LDY could easily be done with a W pattern like MAN-LDY-BHX-LDY-MAN as a work around on a short route but suspect would be harder to do on the longer routes...

Week commencing the 10th March it is Cheltenham festival and Ryanair will operate extremely high frequency’s to and from Ireland.
Dublin 47 weekly
Cork 8 weekly
Knock 5 weekly
Shannon 5 weekly

Also aer lingus to operate 41 weekly from Dublin.

Means bhx will have 101 weekly flights from Ireland 🇮🇪

88 from Dublin

Michael O'leary is often onboard one of Dublin flights, had the pleasure of flying him 2 years ago.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
