As a photographer, I periodically update my checklist of aircraft painted in special liveries. I thought that afew on here may find that list useful, so I will post it here and update it regularly if it is wanted.

Criteria used:

- Aircraft featured must have a reasonable chance of putting in an appearance at Manchester Airport.
- All Star Alliance / Oneworld / Skyteam variants excluded.
- All white 'polar bear' schemes excluded.
- Ryanair regional sponsorship stickers excluded.

I'm aware that some inclusions / exclusions are debatable, but a line has to be drawn somewhere. It's my list so I get to make those tough calls! :)

I will try to keep the list as up-to-date as possible. Some featured aircraft wear schemes which relate to anniversaries which fell in 2017. These may return to standard colours soon. Other aircraft featured will be withdrawn or sold-on. And some new additions will follow as 2018 progresses. Your help in keeping track of these changes will be greatly appreciated. Either use the PM feature or post in the thread to draw attention to aircraft which require adding to or removing from the list. Thanks.

Note that a number of EasyJet special scheme aircraft have recently switched to Austrian or Swiss registry. Please check HB / OE as well as G.

Whilst researching this list, I noted that Belavia and Air Transat are introducing new corporate liveries. Worth watching for these as well.

I believe A6-EHJ has already been WFU.

Also, the Kung Fu Panda liveries *shouldnt* make another appearance as it’s artistic licence only covers trips to the USA, and the airline was fined for sending it to MAN and TLV.

HB-JXI has now been repainted from the ‘carrot’ to standard livery

Thanks for that. I'll remove HB-JXI and A6-EHJ. I'll keep the pandas just in case - what a strange rule!

On second thoughts, the site has timed-out my access to edit the main post. Is there any way to get around this, Mods? Thanks.

Great list! Yes, Belavia's new livery looks like this:
belavia00.jpg

And Air Transat's (which has already visited MAN I believe) looks like this:

Just an observation. Since Summer schedules kicked in, the Brussels Airlines teatime service (SN2177 - STA 17:00) has been seeing regular use of A320 equipment (formerly A319's on this run). I don't know whether or not this is the plan for the whole season yet (hope so), but it does mean we've been getting daylight visits by the special livery A320's recently. May be of interest to photographers?

You missed OO-SND Brussels Airlines Aerosmurf. Another special livery A320 which I saw at LHR a couple of days ago.

A6-EHJ is definitely gone, she's all white now and in storage :(

Hi Armodeen. No, I didn't miss it. There have actually been a number of changes since the original list was compiled. But the software on this forum removes the OP's access to edit a post after about 15 minutes or so. So I cannot change / update anything. It is possible that the moderators could do that, but it would be quite a hassle / commitment for them involving regular interventions. I decided not to go that route as the thread didn't prove particularly popular anyway. I update my own list at home for personal use.

Thanks for your feedback anyway. I was actually fortunate to get a pic of OO-SND at MAN in stunning light earlier this week.

Although not a 'special' livery in the true sense PIA have unveiled their new livery. Initially on B772 AP-BMH i think.
Unfortunately this aircraft has not been that common in Manchester in the past so it may take another aircraft to be painted before we see this livery in MAN.

Another special livery to look out for is G-TCDV A321, apparentley now sporting an all gold fuselage featuring 'I ❤ COOK'S CLUB' titles in place of the usual Thomas Cook titles.

Also new is TC-JTP, THY A321 painted in 'Year of Troy' scheme.

I did get a pic of its first visit but the weather was poor so I'll be looking to improve on that one.

Here is a photograph of the said aircraft and to be honest I think it looks more like beige...but that could just be the light...

Looks like one of the colours that the camera can't make it's mind up on. I did at first thought it had a metallic element to it but not so sure now.

The Cook's Club livery is one that definitely needs the sunshine to bring out the gold colour. Operated NCL-NBE-MAN-PFO today.

Ok well we have another 'one off' scheme togo at, LY-VED A321 operating for Thomas Cook in a hybrid Aeroflot scheme.

If I ever get time I might do a full update to the list in the opening post of this thread. So many changes since then.

Meanwhile, four new ones for our photographers to watch for:

G-VLIP Virgin Atlantic B744 The Falcon / Star Wars
A6-BLI Etihad Airways B789 Choose Saudi Arabia
A6-BLK Etihad Airways B789 Choose Japan
A6-BND Etihad Airways B789 Manchester City FC

A6-BND replaces A332 A6-EYE as Etihad's MCFC mascot. A6-EYE is withdrawn from the active fleet and in long-term storage.
