A fine selection of wines and whisky, but to have to suffer Britains Got Talent :arghh::arghh::vomit: - banned on my telly!

And there was me thinking you were all bent on drinking non-alcoholic wine.

Thanks for translating BGT, Kevin. I was about to ask Ray what it meant. I'm not much of a telly watcher as you might gather.

Quite right total garbage, went out nice pub grub baked hake with sauté potatoes on a bed of mediterranean veg washed down with a J20 to drown my sorrows after the footy guess who was driving?

Getting in the mood for Tuscany with a nice bottle of Chianti (liver and fava beans optional)!

Have a great time Buddy (y)

I'm working my way through 1.5 litres of Apelia. When you're sat outside a Greek restaurant watching the sun set over the bay there is nothing better, drinking it in East Birmingham makes it taste like something that my neighbour made in his shed

The Greeks haven’t quite mastered the wine yet. I was mortified once when I ordered a glass of red and I saw them reach it out of the fridge! Thankfully it soon warmed up.

Still, I’d take chilled red wine over Ouzo anyday!

Funnily enough all of the red that I had this time has been at a decent temperature. I've had it out of the fridge in the past though, I remember cupping it desperately trying to give it some heat.

I never used to mind Ouzo but after a very bad night in Kos some years ago I try to avoid it now. Unfortunately almost every meal ends with a free shot, usually Ouzo or Sambuca.

Now I do like a Metaxa (or two) but when getting caught up in the moment on holiday I imagine it could do some serious damage? :hungover:

Talking of homemade wine reminds me of a tale from my past. I was on summer break from university and went with my parents to Italy (meeting up with my best friend from school and his family), with our caravan. We found a quaint little village miles from anywhere and pitched up in the campsite. We then headed into the village and found a great little family run restaurant. The proprietor was very excited at having English visitors and stated 'I a bring you my a homemade wine' and came back with litre bottle of red wine. On pouring it, we found it was full of dead fruit flies :yuck:.

Some years ago, I was visiting my Sister in Australia. We had been invited to a barbeque, so I took along a bottle of red wine. On getting there, I poured myself a glass and left the bottle in the kitchen. I went back for a top up, to find the bottle had gone. A quick search found it outside in the shade, in a bucket of ice .

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
