EZY to Dalaman took off around 15:00 hrs. Perplexed aftervthe events of last night. Dont know how many booked and how many took the leap into the unknown.

The Thomas Cook flight to Antalya at 1850 also operated according to the BRS departures web page.

easyJet cancelled the Madrid rotation today - due out at 1340 and back at 1845.

One of the five Edinburgh rotations was cancelled yesterday by easyJet. I wonder if these are down to staff shortages again.

As someone who has used easyJet a lot in the past and who continues to use them, although less so than I once did, I'm beginning to feel uncomfortable about a number of cancellations recently that appear to stem from staff shortages. They are starting to appear unreliable.

If they keep cancelling then it will give them a reputation of unreliability. Maybe they might curtail the amount of rotations on some of the routes ie from 5 EDI to 4 and park the 13th aircraft up until they can recruit more staff?
On the plus side for CWL Easyjet cancelling a lot might bring more passengers back to Cardiff!

The 13th aircraft will be going by the end of the summer if past years are a guide - they usually drop by one for the winter. I don't know whether this is purely a Bristol issue or whether it's a problem for the airline across the board.

Yet more easyJet cancellations today.

The inbound Alicante due 0125 was cancelled; I assume so was the outbound on Saturday evening.

The Inverness rotation (due out 1200, back 1520) cancelled as was a rotation from Luton to INV according to another website.

One of the three Glasgow rotations also cancelled (due out 1616, back 1905).

bmi regional has also cancelled its Paris Cdg rotation today.

Sounds like EZY have are having problems at BRS. What i can't understand is why they don't charter in a plane as cover? Like Vueling is doing. They have a ACMI airline on their doorstep at St Athan. Cardiff Aviation Bruce Dickinsons outfit.

I don't know why these two easyJet flights were cancelled this afternoon.

According to FR 24 (not always completely reliable of course) the aircraft that would have gone to Inverness went to Paris at 1610 and after it returned to BRS from there it went to Palma where it's about to start its return journey. Prior to not going to Inverness it went to Geneva and back.

I don't know which aircraft was meant to operate the Glasgow that was cancelled. I assumed it was the aircraft that would have gone to Inverness - timings allow for both rotations - but FR 24 says it went to Paris at the time the GLA was due to operate. Nothing else seems to have been cancelled so presumably the problem was lack of crew or tech aircraft which was either repaired during the afternoon or substituted with one from somewhere else.

I suppose it's not feasible to get an ACMI at such short notice for just two cancelled flights.

Had a couple of tech aircraft, they did fly 2 in from other bases to ease the issues, I wasn't aware of any cancellations though.

Thanks big g.

Two diversions shown in the early hours of today.

Ryanair FR 8213 from Wroclaw and Thomson TOM 6719 from Heraklion both diverted to Birmingham. Presumably the low cloud/mist was the cause although a number of other arrivals made it into BRS after midnight.

bmi regional BM 1868 due 2055 hours from Dusseldorf cancelled.

However, the outbound BM 1867 at 1725 hours operated.

More easyJet cancellations today, presumably because of Italian aviation industrial action.

The morning out/afternoon back rotations to both Pisa and Olbia were cancelled.

However, these rotations did operate to Italy today.

It is accross the whole network. Apparently BRS are fully recruited! A couple of my friends were denied places saying they were full! But from what I have seen that is certainly not the case!

As this appears to relate to BRS-based jobs I wonder if it means an increase in aircraft next summer or a lack of staff this summer or merely an annual exercise to replace natural wastage from the previous summer.

Yes, I read that too. If the forum you saw is one that concentrates on an airport not very far from BRS the poster who made the comment is usually a reliable and knowledgeable poster, not normally given to flights of fancy.

I seem to remember reading at the time that the airport's five-year agreement with easyJet a couple of years ago involved an extra aircraft a year. There was certainly one this year for peak summer. The airport also gained at least one aircraft a year for several years in the earlier years of this century. Whether easyJet's reported problems following the Brexit decision will have any bearing, assuming a 14th aircraft was planned next year, remains to be seen.

It might be one of the reasons why airport CEO, Robert Sinclair, told the local tv news a week or so ago that he anticipated further passenger growth in both 2017 and 2018. Then on Friday he was on again talking about the holiday getaway and said that none of the BRS airlines had intimated they would be pulling out or scaling back following the Brexit decision. Being a cautious sort of person I might be thinking..........Yet!

Just read that many of Blue Islands problems are down to the failed delivery of a new aircraft which didn't turn up in May also wouldn't they have to take aircraft out of service to repaint them with the Flybe livery?

They reportedly recently scrapped one ATR 42 and switched one of its engines to an existing aircraft. In May they reduced frequency at BRS, and probably elsewhere, for a week or two but since then they've been pretty good at BRS in terms of canx flights so far as I can see from the boards each day (I try to look each day when I'm in a position to do so).

I don't think the ATR 42s that use BRS have a full Flybe livery.

I'd like to think so but it does seem that the Flybe franchise will be the thing that decides. One option might be for Flybe to buy them but I'm not sure how that would be in Flybe's interest.

I looked at their page on wikipedia (i know not 100%) but under the founded as it now says 2016 (as Flybe) whether that is to do with the franchise deal or not i don't know. Maybe Flybe could give them there whole Channel islands operation like Loganair has most of their Scottish operations in their future plans because it may well be Flybe has designs on more intra european routes.
