A route that Liverpool would do well to see return is Oslo. It has operated by Ryanair in the past, in fact to two of their airports they used in Oslo. Presently there is no scheduled service, but regular charters by Enter Air. This is due to a large following of LFC supporters in Norway, which is also why Wideroe operate the Bergen route ( returning next year ). I feel Oslo would do well when you also add in other passengers who would want to visit Oslo / Liverpool.

It is curious that Bergen seems to be a route an airline believes will work but Oslo isn't.

Yes, you would of thought so, maybe a large amount of LFC supporters in the Bergen area. I have to say I flew on Wideroe twice before Covid and the flight in from Bergen to Liverpool was completely full, with a number of passengers transferring onto it at Bergen from where I dont know.

With Bergen the route may well have the added extra of cruise passengers as well and people going to the Fjords.

My wish list for 2023 is steady growth with Lufthansa to move to twice daily , the next step is to add Munich hub. If there was a second hub carrier, I'd go for Turkish over KLM.

I think it highlights also, just moving popular routes to Manchester, ignores passenger demands . Since they moved Berlin, ive seen constant demands and complaints at to why this route had disappeared. It handled 80K per annum, it was always the wrong thing to do. Prague a similar story.
Sadly we see this all too many times. It might make sense if the expected demend isn't expected to be sufficient to sustain the route from say LBA, MAN and LPL. Operating the flight from Manchester to serve the whole of the north of England is the right thing to do in that situation rather than just one operation from LPL. You know yourself though that even in cases where the flight can self sustain, Manchester is often opted for. That's where competition is needed. There used to be a time not so long ago when my local airport here in Leeds only offer a couple of weekly flights to places like Tenerife. Now LBA offers daily, double daily or greater. It's funny what compatition can do.

Yes and with that comes customer choice.

Should Avooma actually begin, with respect to possibles from Liverpool, routes that come to mind that are unnerved, are Southampton and Newquay, maybe Aberdeen. Northern Europe, id suggest Copenhagen , Oslo, Brussels.

After I said it, we see Berlin and Prague returning to Liverpool this winter.

Does anybody think Liverpool will be able to attract Jet 2 in the future?
And so it happened

The current rumours at present concerning Liverpool, but also Bournemouth and Belfast, is a link to Dubai by FlyDubai.

I can't speak about BFS and BOH , but Liverpool Airport enjoys a large catchment that.is densely populated . The city is famous around the world, which is good for inbound tourism. Should this happen id see this as complementary to Emirates ops at MAN.

It would be interesting to see whether Emirates would allow FlyDubai some of the UK action, particularly where two destinations e.g. LPL and MAN are so close. The two airlines do coordinate and traditional wisdom suggests Emirates would not. FDB would also not be able to offer popular connections to e.g. SIN, DPS, SYD, BNE, MEL etc. without a UAE codeshare, which would offer no major saving over full service UAE from MAN.

They do offer quite a large network to destinations in South East Asia , Maldives Thailand also Indian and Sri Lanka for example which would be popular. The closeness of Liverpool and Manchester I dont see as an issue , 6 millon people live an within an hour of Liverpool Airport, which isnt small, the two airports catchment is quite similar.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
