According to the Jeddah Allocation slots

Flynas have requested flights to Bhx.
Don’t know how you find how many slots they’ve requested
Good spot! I think they only show the number of requested slots for routes that are completely new to an airport, and of course, BHX is already on Jeddah’s route map.

Wonder why they didn’t apply for Riyadh instead, like they did from Manchester?

Saudia have also requested an extra daily slot next summer

Something is happening in Saudi Arabia, read the Manchester forum from this morning, they may happen or maybe not but could be interesting

RUH-MAN aint happening in 2024 on either Saudi or Flynas unfortunately. I believe it will be an early add for Riyadh Air though

Hopefully they add the 4th weekly JED-BHX, it feels a logical step given the great L/Fs this summer

Checking their website they show operating to MAD,GVA, and a few other main Euro airports but the flts operated by Saudia Airlines scheds on their behalf SV 215,229 etc.

They also have a code share with Pegasus.

I did find a Flt number of their own to BRU but not currently operating when I put it through flt radar..summer only perhaps?

Having said all that, they did plan to operate into MAN some years ago but never followed it through.

One to watch though..

TK may see an increase in loads once they start IST to MEL and SYD via SIN come next March. It could also impact negatively on QR and EK .
I think that most people would much prefer a one stop flight over a two stop flight, unless the price of the two stop flight is significantly cheaper. I don't see it having too much of an impact on EK or QR.

I am happy to be corrected but FlyNas did serve MAN-JED at one stage. The airline did not have sufficient transfer options to compete with SV and it ended after about 2 years.

I think you are right Kevin , cost is a big factor too . I’m one of those expat Brummies living in Australia , so I will be looking at the developments with interest , however , bear in mind that EK is significantly more expensive from SYD to BHX , than the alternative to LHR .Id love to fly to BHX , but rarely do because of the cost from Australia .

ACL Summer 2024 start of season report:-

Start Of Season Report

(y)
Cheers Matt for the update on the ACL start of season report.
Regards to winter 2024 ACL report well obviously it’s not been released yet however I have my predictions for winter.

EasyJet
  • Venice
  • Hamburg
  • Prague
  • Florence
  • Marseille
Ryanair :
Oslo
Plovdiv
Rome
Belfast
Nantes

Austrian I reckon will come back at 2 weekly using its E195 exchanging its airline with jet2.

Wizz air:
Gdnask
Athens

Gotta feeling Turkmenistan or pia will return in the winter or early January however I wouldn’t be surprised if they would not return.

My head says that their will be a dark horse airline coming to bhx this winter and I reckon it could be Hainan from Hong Kong.

Pegasus I reckon could increase to 4 weekly and saudia could decrease its 3 weekly to 2.

Regarding Qatar and emirates I can’t see emirates bringing back double A380 per day though I do reckon it will be brought back next summer hope we get some news on that in the next few months or so on.
Qatar could see them either upping their flights to 10 weekly using 787-8 or 787-9.

I’ve probably got this absolutely ridiculously wrong however these are my predictions and thoughts.

What bout ur predictions guys?

Some reasonable assumptions.

Couple of observations. EZY/EJU do not operate to FLR. And I doubt an airline like AUA would consider twice weekly as being worth their while. Hainan can only fly from HKG to mainland China, but PEK is possible. Will we ever see PIA back in UK? The problem is that the airline only has a small number of airworthy aircraft (e.g. just 1 B773). Additionally they have decided that their European base will be CDG.

Now the news of easyjet starting flights to Cape verde is out could we see BHX part of expansion this winter…

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
