Airline considers Prestwick – Islands flights
Obanair has revealled that they are considering starting flights from Prestwick Airport to Oban and Stornoway, the Post reports. Spencer Pryor from the airline told the newspaper: ‘It might seem a strange time to be mooting new air routes, but we feel we need to start planning now for when the economy improves.'
‘We hope our market research will show that there is a demand for a daily service on these routes using a small commuter aircraft such as a Jetstream 31 or Twin Otter. Dependent on the outcome of the research, we intend to apply for a category B airline operators licence and undergo a second round of financing with the plan of starting operations in the Spring of 2010.’
