Airline considers Prestwick – Islands flights

Obanair has revealled that they are considering starting flights from Prestwick Airport to Oban and Stornoway, the Post reports. Spencer Pryor from the airline told the newspaper: ‘It might seem a strange time to be mooting new air routes, but we feel we need to start planning now for when the economy improves.'

‘We hope our market research will show that there is a demand for a daily service on these routes using a small commuter aircraft such as a Jetstream 31 or Twin Otter. Dependent on the outcome of the research, we intend to apply for a category B airline operators licence and undergo a second round of financing with the plan of starting operations in the Spring of 2010.’

Presumably these flights are for Goldtrail Holidays? Some of the flights that were operated by Onur Air last year are being operated by the new Turkish carrier Turkuaz Airlines at some airports. Do you know whether this is the case at PIK?

This operator are doing a short seriesto Antalya in March using Correndon airlines small but anythings welcome

Thanks, dug.

I hadn't heard of Corendon Airlines so looked them up and found they are Turkish registered with headquarters in Antalya, and they operate a B 737-300 and some B 737-800s.

There also seems to be a Corendon Dutch Airlines, Dutch registered with headquarters in the Netherlands.

Every little helps, as you say.

Austrian airline Intersky planning on operating a weekly saturday flight to Berne using ATR72-600 small but welcome good luck to them

It's good news - similar flights announced from Manston, Newquay and Bournemouth.

The main man in InterSky is heavily involved with Intro, the German company taking over CityJet, and it's believed the intention is to merge CityJet and InterSky airlines.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
