Re: Diversions, Delays & Cancellations

Another forum is reporting that Jet2 LS 555 from Newcastle to Ibiza this afternoon encountered some sort of problem and spent time burning off fuel before landing at Manchester.

I don't know the type of aircraft.

Re: Diversions, Delays & Cancellations

LocalYokel, thanks for reminding me. I did see this on FlightRadar and completely forgot to mention it. I think it was B737 G-CELV that had the problem.
From what I remember the aircraft trails showed it flying down towards MAN whilst slowly decending. By the looks of things, the aircraft must have spent 15-20mins circling East of MAN, even why I saw it on radar.

Re: Diversions, Delays & Cancellations

The LS557 Newcastle to Malaga service operated by Titan Airways is diverting into Brest.

Re: Diversions, Delays & Cancellations

i note that the ua flt from ewr is cancelled again today.
this flt has been cancelled about 5 times sinse it started operating.
i know its a summer service at the minute, but with all these flts cancelled it does no good for the confidence of ppl for booking.
its due to be operated next summer as well. my gut feeling is that this service will not run next summer.i hope im wrong, but it does not bode well, and the front end pax will go back to how they used to fly to the states.

Re: Diversions, Delays & Cancellations

The loads haven't been very good either; much smaller than those from BRS to EWR when Continental operated the service and we all know which way that one went eventually. It could also determine whether United deem it worth commencing similar flights from other smaller UK regional airports.

NCL might feel the draught of Scotland's reduction of APD too.

Re: Diversions, Delays & Cancellations

I agree the loads are poor, but they are not going to build on what they have if they keep cancelling flights. I for one would be reluctant to fly with them knowing they are slap-happy at cancelling flights.

Re: Diversions, Delays & Cancellations

with whats happening with the ua flt,i think it would have been better not to have had this flt.as things go it always comes back to the airport as their fault.
it does not give other airlines any confidence for starting routes else where.

Re: Diversions, Delays & Cancellations

cancelled again today. dare i say it i can see where this is going. cant see it returning next year.it was saying tech aircraft, only think they had a tech aircraft elsewhere with better loadings so used the ncl aircraft with poor bookings to cover the route.

Re: Diversions, Delays & Cancellations

to wrap up my last post. the plane destined for ncl did a service into edi.
it looks like its run every other day into ncl.

Re: Diversions, Delays & Cancellations

NCL-EWR hasn't had a happy first summer. I hope it can manage to survive, both for its own sake and as an encouragement to United to look at other smaller UK airports.

Re: Diversions, Delays & Cancellations

There are some reports of delays at Newcastle airport this morning due to snow and de-icing issues.

Strong winds in Amsterdam this morning have caused KLM to cancel numerous flights. In the UK, nowhere is as badly affected as Newcastle, where four flights out of five have been cancelled.
Some UK destinations such as LBA have escaped with just one cancellation. Others have fared more badly, such as Heathrow 6/11 and Aberdeen 3/4.

According to users on Twitter NCL has recently accepted a BA 767 diversion from Heathrow due to snow at Heathrow.

G-BNWA 767 300er landed from Frankfurt about 36 mins ago according to FR24.
They've also had an A320 G-EUYW from Reykjavik that landed about 45 mins ago.

I have to say, it's been a long - long time since I last remember a day like today.

BA799 from HEL has veered towards NCL over the North Sea BA66GA/BA641 from Athens may go in?

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
