Liverpool: Executive Jets & General Aviation

Discussions relating to Liverpool Airport
Still working up to full squadron strength and awaiting deliveries from Boeing. They are going to be based at Lossiemouth when the facility updates have been completed. In the meantime they are operating from the old Nimrod base at Kinloss, which reverted to being an Army base after the Nimrods were scrapped.

How old are the Nimrods do you know ? They were converted Comet 4s.

The last ones left service in 2011 after they type entered service in the late 1960`s..They were based on the Comet4 but were shot to bits mechanically..The Governments over many years bungled the replacements and the new Nimrod went so far overtime and budget it became unreal. Cameron scrapped the project and after a long delay finally ordered the American replacements..We have had to rely on NATO for reconnaissance up until now.
