Loganair flights to Glasgow take off from Cardiff
View attachment 16165

Loganair services between Cardiff and Glasgow took flight last night (27th February), the first air connection between the two cities since October 2019.
The launch marks the start of a year-round schedule that will connect the two cities- designed to enable business or leisure trips of different durations, including weekends, long weekends and short breaks.
There is currently no direct rail service between Scotland’s biggest city and Cardiff, and car journey times can take upwards of seven hours.
The route, operated by Loganair’s 49-seat Embraer 145 jet aircraft, has a flight time of only 1 hour and 15 minutes, and operates up to eight times a week. The launch will also be welcome news for Pro14 rugby fans who will be able to follow their club to Scotland for matches against Glasgow Warriors.

To celebrate the launch, passengers on the first flights between Cardiff and Glasgow received complimentary miniatures of ‘Glaswegin’ Gin, and customers flying from Cardiff were surprised at the gate with cupcakes made by local business The Vale Cake Boutique, and a bagpipes performance from John Campbell.

Across all its routes, Loganair provides 15kg of complimentary baggage allowance, in-flight refreshments and the option to join Clan Loganair – the airline’s competitive reward programme for frequent flyers. Business customers can also choose from a range of fare products for the flexibility they need.

Kay Ryan, Loganair’s Chief Commercial Officer, said:
“We are looking forward to welcoming passengers on-board our aircraft at Cardiff Airport.
“This is an important business route to Glasgow and Scotland’s biggest city is a great destination for shopping and nightlife. The city is home to three universities, where the student experience is considered to be one of the best in the UK.
“Rugby fans will also be delighted with this new route launch, allowing travelling supporters to take in Pro14 clashes against the Glasgow Warriors.”

Spencer Birns, Chief Commercial Officer at Cardiff Airport said:
“It is fantastic to welcome Loganair’s scheduled services to Cardiff, and we are really pleased that they have taken this opportunity to bolster links between Wales and Scotland.
“Wales has strong ties with Glasgow and the new regular service will help facilitate our passengers who need to travel for business, or for visiting friends and family.”

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
