BHX Movements and Heads Up

If you take any notice of the charts on the BBC weather web site for BHX, you could get off lightly, as between 11.00 and 14.00, the wind is shown as westerly at 22-24 kts. Other airports have wind speeds at 50-70 kts. incl EMA and MAN, so if that proves correct, you could be in for some diversions. It does get up mid-afrernoon to 40+ kts at BHX.

Kevin I didn't think for a second you were I was just pointing out that I realised that what is planned and the actuality of what happens will be different maybe I should have made my post clearer.

These winds seem to be acting quite strange as if you look round region there are huge variations LPL gusting 53
MAN 10 BHX 29 but as soon as a squall goes through things change dramatically as MAN was 35 a while ago.

Can confirm that extending 24 was impossible due to 3 major factors:
1 Terrain
2 The A45
3 Most importantly, the fish and chip shop where one also could have a splendid view of the apron and a peek inside a viscounts’ nose wheel bay.

I note from FR24, that LH956 from FRA was operated by A321, D-AIDC. Was this an aircraft upgrade to cover for the cancelled LH954?
It's scheduled to operate the LH959 to FRA tomorrow at 05:35.

TK1967 is now showing as a B777-300 (TC-JJG), ETA 09:55 (although the FR24 departure screen still shows a B787-9). I guess this is to do with the start of half term.

Looking through FR24, Air Tanker A330 (G-VYGK, AWC223Y) arrived at BHX from BZZ yesterday at 12:45pm.
FR24 shows it departing BHX for WAW at 08:00 under the flight number ZT239.

FR24 is showing a Smartlynx A320 (YL-LCU, 6Y9752/ART9752) due from Tallinn (TLL) at 06:50.
I can't yet find a departure from BHX for it.

The Smart Lynx A320 is over with STS possibly been prepped for the summer season as I think TUI have one operating for them this year from BHX.

A bit early but maybe it fits in with the maintenance schedule.

FR24 is showing Saturday's TK1967 to be a B787-9, STA 09:55. I did wonder if another upgrade would happen at the end of half term. Perhaps, it will again be further upgraded to a B777-300.

I would assume that in the light of sanctions imposed this morning, there will be a ban on freight flights into BHX from Russian airports....

It will be nice to see Aeroflot fly Birmingham International BHX as-well - we must be proud of Birmingham - We need Russia in the midlands- (PRAY FOR PEACE IN WORLD )
