3 new routes this winter with Langkawi and Utapao being added to Enfida. There is no Puerto Plata. December will see the arrival of their first B737-MAX8 with more to come as deliveries arrive.

What will the 737-MAX8 replace or is it an additional aircraft?

S19 see an extra B737-MAX8 added to take the base size up to 14.5 aircraft. New destinations are said to be Rijeka and Lamezia Therme. PuertoPlata is discontinued.

It didn`t go tech it was hit by a baggage vehicle I believe and was scked to go to St Athan for repairs
but couldn`t get in due weather and hasn`t flown since 6th December, not sure if repairs being done at Man or
if it will have to go St Athan at some time

Flew out yesterday on 737-800 max to AGP. Excellent service, very spacious with Dreamliner interior and Tui trialing navigator.tui interactive services which was really good. Onboard films, box sets, bookable excursions etc all available via mobile or tablet with free Wi-Fi access. Really good and staff very professional. The Captain was really good at keeping everyone informed of progress and her level of detail was excellent, telling us how the head wind was affecting ground speed etc. All in all very impressed.

Anyone know what Tui will use instead of the 737 MAX now traffic is picking up for the summer? Looks to be 3 787s on short haul today.

My apologies for the late response, however life has been rather hectic of recent.

From an ACL report dated 28th March

Currently three additional B737-800’s are based to cover the MAX program, two additional B737-800’s will be used during April but these will position in and out from other bases when required at MAN. The based standby B787-9 (345 seats) will also be used to cover some flights along with based B757-200 and B787-8.

TUI (TOM) - Will base a Titan A321 (218seats) from 01May to initial date of 15Jul, this replaces one line of flying that was planned on B737-MAX8. All other MAX flights currently planned on existing TUI fleet types.

Tui have announced additional capacity from a range of airports including Manchester. I don't think they've actually put anything extra on sale at the moment however. If the 737 Max isn't back where are they going to get the aircraft?

If they're recruiting former TCX (Airbus-rated) flightdeck crews as reported elsewhere, it looks like medium-term Airbus leases will be the solution. These pilots can be cross-trained onto Boeing types when the MAX issues are finally resolved.

Icelandair shifting their redundant MAXs routing KEF-SNN-ILD (Lleida, Spain) - I'm not sure about the desti. Looks very small on Google.

Wonder if TUI could do the same?

If TUI decide to add Airbuses to the fleet it would need to be something medium to long-term as they don't have them on the AoC and to stand up that capability is not a minor undertaking. They can ACMI things through next spring, especially if those carriers take on some of the former TCX fleet. If TUI are not looking at longer-term leasing/purchase of Airbus aircraft it is cheaper the retrain the former TCX flight crew than to add the new A/C type to the AoC

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
