Bad news as I was informed earlier today that Inghams Holidays might have dropped there Leeds/Bradford - Innsbruck winter Ski 2014/15 charter flights. A weekly Saturday service were originally on sale when I checked the website a few weeks back and the were planned to be operated by Austrian Airlines once again, But after checking the Inghams Ski website again this evening it seems that you now get offered Jet2 scheduled flights to either Salzburg or Chambery instead.

I'm not sure what possible use a flight to Chambery is for someone wanting to travel to the Tyrol region. You may as well get a bus from England. Still, a shame if true. Hardly surprising though. The aviation world is going to face a tough 12 months.

I've just checked the ever so reliable Innsbruck Airport website timetable section for the summer 2015 programme and its showing the weekly Leeds/Bradford charter flights (operated on behalf of Inghams Holidays) as been operated by Austrian Airlines Fokker 70 jet aircraft instead of the usual turbo prop Dash 8-Q400's

For some reason the service seems to run for a shorter duration this summer 2015 with flights not commencing until Saturday July 25th and running to September 19th operating as following.

AUA2587 = INN 13:00 - LBA 14:30 / AUA2588 = LBA 15:15 - INN 18:45

The Innsbruck flight is due to start in 3 weeks and as far as I am aware it is a "shared season" with Edinburgh. The Edinburgh flights have been operated by a Dash 8. Are LBA flights still to be operated Fokker 70?

Yes, they are.

Good news as it would seem Inghams Holidays will offer an extended season on their weekly Saturday afternoon Austrian Airlines operated Leeds/Bradford - Innsbruck service next summer 2016 season as lights will operate from June 11th right up until September 24th. This summer 2015 season route only started operation late July and ran until mid September due to it been split season as the aircraft operated Edinburgh - Innsbruck May to July.

Hi

Does anyone know if Austrian are operating out of LBA this winter?

Mark

Hi Mark sadly we don't have winter ski flights to Innsbruck from Leeds-Bradford anymore hence Austrian Airlines won't be reappearing again until next summer.

Ski routes for this winter are Jet2 to Geneva, Chambery, Salzburg and Easyjet to Geneva.

Grenoble has also been dropped by both Monarch and Jet2. Hope that's of help.

Just checked the Innsbruck Airport website summer 2016 charter flights timetable and its currently showing the weekly Saturday Austrian Arrows flights to Leeds/Bradford been operated by Fokker 70 instead of a Dash 8-Q400 and it looks to be operating for an extended period between June 11th and September 24th compared to last summer's shorter July-August shared programme with Edinburgh.

It will be sad not to see the Dash's. F70's getting a bit long in the tooth now.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
