I take it we still don't know what type will be operating the flights?

Good news as its been confirmed that Austrian Airlines are again taking over operation of the weekly Saturday Inghams Holidays Summer 2014 Leeds/Bradford - Innsbruck charter flights now that flybe has decided to axe all charter flight operations due to cost savings.

The new flight times will be as follows.

AUA2587 = INN 06:50 LBA 07:55 / AUA 2588 = LBA 08:40 INN 11:45

At the moment I don't know what aircraft type has been allocated for the summer operation as yet, But once I or anyone else finds out I suppose it will be posted on here in no time.

The flight times of approx 2 hours suggest a jet operation of some type, so may be able to rule out the AUA Dash 8 Q400's from the outset. That in itself will be seen by many as an enhancement to the service given FlyBe's use of that type previously on the route.

Hi

Inghams Holidays have just altered the scheduled flights times for the weekly Innsbruck charter service this summer. The good news is that the flight continues to be operated on a Saturday using a Dash 8-Q400 off Austrian Airlines but switches from an early morning to an afternoon arrival

AUA2587 = INN 13:00 LBA 14:30 / AUA2588 = LBA 15:10 INN 18:40....

It's another arrival in the busy early afternoon period. It would be much better for the airport if it was a morning arrival when it is quieter.

You've spent too long playing the app :LOL:

Sound like there will be no time to put the kettle on during Saturday afternoons any more ! I remember when they used to laugh at us sweeping the snow off the aircraft in the winter so excuse me for having no sympathy !

Are you meaning ATC laughed at you A300?

When I visited the Tower last, I was told by the boss lady that you prefer it to be really busy! :)

It's what makes the job more interesting Heather, much preferred to not talking to an aircraft for an hour like in winter:-(

Yes Lamix1W it was some of your colleagues from the past. They thought it was funny we had to brush the snow off instead of using a de-ice fluid. We only had a small rig in those days not the modern high flow units they have now, so it was necessary to get the heavy snow off before applying the de-ice fluid. Scary thing to do at the time and I am sure health and safety would not allow it now. Just to add it was all in jest and we gave as well as we got.

Glad to hear it A300. Having done that job myself I know how bitterly cold it can be. Although I do remember on one occasion being told not to sweep 12 inches on snow off an A319 and wash it off instead! 4800 litres on one aircraft. Think it paid for both de-icing rigs(Joke).

I'm rubbish at these app's! Luckily I can do the job in real life!:p :good:

I guess the workload will be somewhat different at some of the regional airports out there compared with the likes of Heathrow!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
