Could be wrong but It would appear that Paris CDG isn't bookable for 2018. I knew they announced it for 2017 but can't seem to find it at all ok there website. Has the flight actually gone ahead or been canned before it took off for this year?

Paris always struggles from EMA. I know BHX has multiple flights and now offers Paris Orly but you would think a major city like Paris could work from EMA.

Paris was announced and the schedule originally showed it operating throughout the summer. This didn't last long though and only a couple of flights actually operated before it was dropped completely. There are reports elsewhere that suggest extremely light loads but if only a couple of flights operated then that is understandable.

It's an odd one as Paris is a major capital city with a huge tourist draw so you would have thought that the market was there, even if leisure/Disney orientated. Previously Flybe operated EMA-CDG but this was discontinued, I cannot remember if it had an Air France code share?

Jet2 have this evening uploaded and realeased for sale its Summer 2019 flight schedule from East Midlands.

Not sure any new routes have been added but I suspect they will issue a press release over next few days.

Had two good trips with Jet2 to Cyprus from EMA recently. Used to fly with Monarch out of BHX.

Impressed with all Jet2 staff and crew. Planes fine despite age.

Jet2 stuck with it and got flight off to Cyprus on a snowy Sunday morning in March when Ryanair cancelled all flights before 09:30 Even though some had boarded.

Looking at a trip to Cyprus with Jet2 at beginning of April. EMA around £150 more than BHX which is around £120 more than LBA for return flights for two with EMA being around £800. Big difference. Hard to understand why EMA is so expensive.

Probably flights well booked

Not looking at seats already booked plenty of room although that is not 100% indication. Can actually get a holiday including apartment for a week self catering for £100 more than flights from EMA! Not checked the others.

Just booked 2 one week holidays with Jet2 one to Fuerteventura and the other Kefalonia. Speaking to fellow colleagues in the office who have booked holidays this year 5 have booked with Jet2 none have gone with TUI or Thomas Cook and one with BA

Anyone seen any new Jet2 operations from EMA after the loss of Thomas Cook? Plenty of detailed news about additions at other airports but not seen anything specific for EMA.

I haven't seen anything either. It appears that all the extra capacity for the Midlands is going to BHX.

I can see a happy balance between both! They are similar to GLA/EDI and MAN/LBA. EMA won't retract but not be favoured in growth over BHX for example.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
