I expect that it'll concentrate passenger wise on leisure routes to the Med at the moment and cargo wise whatever it can pick up. I believe it's picked up Lufthansa cargo flights quite recently.

It would be nice to see some of the domestic routes come back that Flybe used to do for example Jersey / Dublin / Belfast.

New airlines and routes would be great but at present it has to be a case of hold what you have be it DSA or Derry.

With the events of the past 9-10 months hopefully the airport has shown what it has to offer to the numerous cargo airlines that have visited South Yorkshire and they visit again in the future. A regular scheduled cargo service like a few years ago (ASL Airlines) would cerrtainly complement the current Air Atalanta operations.

Going forward post pandemic the relationship between DSA and TUI has to be maintained with Wizz coming on board with sun routes TUI won't exactly be rolling around laughing, I suspect they expected it to happen but how they deal with it will certainly be interesting.

Belfast, Dublin and Jersey have all been mentioned by the airport recently as routes they want to get back Amsterdam should be on that list as well.

I think they more complement each other rather than be rivals. Wizz will be looking to attract passengers that use Ryanair and Easyjet rather than TUI passengers.

Yeah post pandemic DSA need to maintain there good relationship with TUI and Wizz , but it would be nice to see someone like Logan Air or Eastern Airways operate those domestic routes as there is a gap in the market for them from the airport.

They should complement each other true but Wizz will take some TUI passengers for sure, with Wizz coming on board some routes have seen a 100% increase in seats available it will be very interesting to see what loads are like for both carriers when things are back to normal.

Im interested to see what airlines people would like to see come to the airport and what sort of routes they’d like , so I thought I’d start off a topic to see different people’s thoughts and opinions.

The only chance of getting the Flybe routes back is for Eastern to come in and operate them, but LBA has a far bigger catchment area. I am afraid we will have to wait and see.

We're in a bit of a quagmire with the pandemic and also with climate change. I firmly believe aviation has a good future once Covid is out of the way and once Airbus and Boeing catch up with efforts to reduce carbon emissions. Once those issues have been resolved we'll be back to growth. Now is the time to plan ahead and it the meantime concentrate on keeping the services already on offer.

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
