Today saw Aegean Airlines’ inaugural flight from BRS to ATH. It will operate 2x weekly (Mo & Fr) year-round using A320 series aircraft. Loads were over 90% on the the outbound flight today - an excellent start.

Great to have another Star Alliance carrier at BRS alongside Lufthansa and Swiss. Maybe we’ll see another Star Alliance carrier at BRS in the future - Austrian, Brussels, SAS, TAP, Turkish?

Last flight I can see on this route is on sale for 5th January 2023.

Normally a quieter time of the year, indeed - but nothing on sale for S24 as yet...

🤔

Surely that's 2024?

Same for Bhx too
Interesting.

One would think they might wait to put all of S24 on sale together - until then maybe a short hiatus whilst it’s quiet season…

(And yes Jerry, 2024! Oops. Ha!)

The timings are awful tho. Gone midnight departure tues and sat. Given also that Ryanair has some very late departures planned for summer 24 I thought there was a night time quota now in place ?

If I’ve ever seen a timetable that spells out nail in coffin on a route, this has to be a prime contender!

ATH 21:50 - 23:45 BRS (Mo & Fr)
BRS 00:35 - ATH 06:20 (Tu & Sa)

😕

A proper redeye! I wonder how it connects into Aegean onward connections in Athens?

ATH to operate twice weekly for S24

Not yet on sale it seems.
Seems to now be a very sporadic timetable for S24 with their website stating the ATH route will operate between 26/04/2024 > 06/05/2024, 24/05/2024 > 31/05/2024 and 23/08/2024 > 02/09/2024

I was looking to get to ATH to catch a cruise but those times and dates just don't work

🤔

That schedule makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Pointless operating for 3 weeks or so is it. Surely a mistake

They used to do MAN for years like that to connect with the island ferries but have now changed to a mid morning flight

In a bygone era, airlines such as Britannia, Dan Air etc, mainly operated from UK to Athens with departure times after 2100. When I lived in Athens, the BA and OA late night flights were always the fullest.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
