But what is not taken into the account is the car park that I see the M62 or an appalling rail service offered by TPE. Any airline could quickly recoup any costs with a proper range of services from LBA. Of course I am biased but when avoiding competition on routes, LBA is a goldmine

They could have launched LPL-BHD, Belfast is a big market from Liverpool, but it was all to BFS. They didn't do it, and now Easyjet do both BHD and BFS, so they lost that possibility . They could also have returned to LPL-NQY, having said that they didn't even last long enough for the busy summer holiday period for Cornwall.

The problem is that they didn’t seem to have that viewpoint of trying different routes. They seemed to go for routes already well served which made no sense. With regards to Newquay they chose to fly that route from Manchester which in my view was an overkill having 3 airlines doing the same domestic route. Late aircraft deliveries hindered expansion as they were cutting down on current routes as a result. With regards to LPL-Belfast I think easyJet serve Belfast well from there. I’m not sure you’d want them doing BHD when they cancelled the flights most days from LBA.

Easyjet are doing BHD now, which is a far better option than any Flybe service, but as i said they didn't take the initiative, and Easyjet didn't want them muscling in. Yes agree 3 airlines Manchester to Newquay, is overkill.

Sky news now reporting BE mk2 to be wound up after takeover talks stalled/ failed. Not a great surprise in my eyes and will be interesting to see where those prized LHR slots now end up - save day for domestic connectivity or out to the highest bidder? Also similar for the AMS ones but pax limitations may hinder things there for now

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
