Leeds Bradford: £100m Regeneration Programme REGEN

Use this prefix for new threads for Leeds Bradford Airport
Has the date for the opening of phase one been confirmed as yet? Does anyone have any updated photos? Looking forward to a long anticipated enhanced terminal, one I think we can be proud of 👍
"Go Live" date is now 17th June. The bulk of the airport & service provider staff will be shown around between the 10th-14th, with the final 48h being dedicated to a police search to ensure the departures areas are ready to be incorporated airside.

That's interesting as the in-house aviation security team will be the only ones trained properly in doing a sweep of the terminal building.

Wonder if they will get some dignitary or other to officially open it?

Trashy Breadbin

Making out it was all her own work
Maybe get them all in together.

I was booked into the Six Eight One lounge for the 10th but got an e-mail today saying my bookings been cancelled due to the opening of the lounges being delayed till the 17th. They said they had originally planned on opening them on June 4th. Getting full refund though, I'll have to try the lounge when I go away in September instead.

The Piece Hall is very nice.
Ironically, and joking aside, it's somewhere I have never been although Mrs Finger loves it. Lots of town centre works going on too which are intended improvements.
Leeds is obviously booming.
Bradford improving but nowhere near where it needs to be and a long way to go.
Huddersfield I see as a steady away town.
So things aren't all that bad in the region and with a revamped amazing airport to support that I believe us WY folk have things to be very proud of.
Moving slightly further afield, I love a lot of NY so again great to have LBA to support these fabulous cities, towns and villages.
Local bias aside things are looking good for the region, certainly WY airport wise Deliberately leaving an S out of all that!)

They could paint a huge picture of her face at each end of the runway, she’d like that!
It's only a matter of time until the runway at LBA is reduced in width to accommodate cycles lanes in each direction. Nobody will use them unless the runway checker switches to a bike, but no matter. Nobody uses most of the other cycle lanes either.

When viewing old footage and pics from decades back the one thing clearly visible is how spacious the roads were with no clutter and usually just one white broken line down the centre! Today the endless bike lanes, curbs everywhere, coloured rd surfaces esp in cities, cluttered signs everywhere in my opinion makes driving far more difficult esp for say older drivers and actually make a place less attractive

Anyone know how the flight selection process will be made for the test runs over the next few weeks?
I’m using the airport quite a bit over the next four weeks and would be delighted to have a preview of the new terminal.
First flight on Sunday ✈️ ☀️
Good question and it will likely be through the daytime when the management are in situ.

Perhaps pick flights based on different genres of pax to see how they all cope, party flight=ibiza, families =faro, OAP= jersey 😂

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
