London Luton Airport (LLA) has today opened the doors to a new lounge.

The new No1 Lounge has capacity for 70 guests and offers a variety of seating options, from comfortable lounge chairs to quieter meeting spaces; while natural light filters through the lounge window spaces offering some airfield views.

Operated by SwissportALD, a joint venture between Airport Dimensions and Swissport, the lounge will offer complimentary food and beverages, with a selection of premium beers, spirits, and wines served from a fully staffed bar, and culinary delights catering to different tastes, including cooked and continental breakfasts, and an afternoon menu with vegan and vegetarian options.

The lounge’s modern design, featuring a contemporary colour scheme, plush textures, and unique feature wallpaper, is complemented by essential amenities like Wi-Fi, flight information screens, a TV lounge, newspapers and magazines, ensuring a guest experience that blends style and practicality.

Conveniently located airside next to gate 17, the new No1 Lounge is accessible to Priority Pass and Lounge Key cardholders, whilst less frequent travellers can opt for the convenience of pre-booking a visit directly via the No1 website at no1lounges.com.

Later in 2024, SwissportALD will open a second lounge at London Luton Airport, My Lounge, to further expand the range of choice on offer for the millions of passengers who travel through the airport annually.

Jonathan Rayner, Chief Commercial Officer at London Luton Airport, commented: “The opening of No1 Lounge signals the latest exciting investment in London Luton Airport’s passenger facilities. Our aim is to provide a simple, friendly and enjoyable passenger experience and the arrival of this new lounge, along with next year’s opening of the new My Lounge at LLA, underlines our commitment to providing first-class facilities and broadening the range of choice available to people flying from the airport.”

Errol McGlothan, President of Airport Dimensions, EMEA & APAC said: “The opening of this fantastic new No1 Lounge at one of the UK’s busiest airports marks another significant step on our journey to expand our presence and choice for travellers. It's been a pleasure collaborating LLA in bringing this space to life. The design and proposition will reflect the very best of our No1 Lounge brand. I’m looking forward to hearing some great feedback from guests and playing our part in making their journeys even more enjoyable.”

Shaun Weston, Managing Director of No1 Lounges, a SwissportALD Holdings company commented: ‘‘We’re incredibly excited to bring No1 Lounges to London Luton Airport. The lounge has been designed with No1 Lounge’s evolution in styling, creating stylish and comfortable lounge experiences for those travelling through LLA. Our signature service and variety of food and beverages will be brought to this lounge to give travellers variety and choice. I’m looking forward to working closely with London Luton Airport to help create memorable experiences for our guests.’’

About London Luton Airport
London Luton Airport (LLA) is one of the UK’s busiest airports, carrying over 13 million passengers in 2022.

The airport is operated by a consortium, of which the majority shareholder is AENA, the world’s largest airport operator, and InfraBridge, a leading infrastructure investment manager. Airlines include easyJet, Wizz Air, Ryanair, Tui, FlyOne, Sun Express and El Al.

The Luton Airport Express is a new dedicated train service that allows passengers to travel from central London to the LLA terminal in around 30 minutes. The Luton Airport Express runs from St Pancras International to Luton Airport Parkway station and connects seamlessly with the DART, an electrically powered people mover that connects to the airport terminal in less than four minutes.

This year, LLA has been named as the UK’s best airport by readers of the prestigious Condé Nast Traveller magazine.

LLA is only the third major UK airport to achieve Level 4 of the globally recognised Airport Carbon Accreditation scheme, demonstrating that it is ‘transforming its operations to achieve carbon reductions in line with global climate goals’.

The airport has been ranked as a sector leader for a second consecutive year in the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) assessment for sustainability governance and performance. LLA achieved a maximum score of 100 and a five-star rating across all aspects of the internationally recognised sustainability framework that benchmarks ESG management and performance of major infrastructure assets worldwide.

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
