KLM will go down to 2 daily flights Monday to Saturday and 1 flight on a Sunday between 3rd September and 26th October with no evening flight. I believe it's due to runway works at Schipol.

According to FR24 CWL has a little upgrade for this evenings flight. PH-EZB an E190.

Flew back to Cardiff last night from Bremen via Amsterdam. Flight from Bremen was 1 hour 30 min late so a casual stroll through Amsterdam turned into a very brisk walk but made the fligh with 5 min to spare. Flight to Cardiff left on time with about 10-15 empty seats and landed 5 min early. Sadly the bored agency only had 2 people checking passports. 1 for EU and 1 for international which slowed everything up. Other than a good flight to Cardiff

I noticed that there wasn't many border staff on my last trip and it seemed to take quite a while. I honestly don't know why they got rid of the machines as they were much quicker.

In July 2018 the Amsterdam route saw 13,060 passengers use the route. A growth of 14%!

14% growth is brilliant considering QR now also being around. Hopefully it's a sign that QR are actually regaining the market using other Airports and the recent focus and promotion of CWL is also benefiting KLM.

We were returning back to Bristol last Wednesday on the KLM 1053 departing at 17:40 local time. While waiting at the D6 gates an announcement was made asking for one passenger on the corresponding flight to Cardiff to volunteer to fly on the later flight as the flight was overbooked, no details of the offer were made.
As an aside if you think your local airport is expensive for food the McDonalds at Schipol wanted 28 euros (roughly £25) for two meals, ate elsewhere cheaper and better!

Well that sounds positive for the route though maybe not for the passenger that had a longer layover! The route in September did grow by 2% despite cutbacks due to runway restrictions. Hopefully next year we may well start to see more E190 rotations!
Yep Schipol isn't cheap!

My recent KL1064 was probably 80-90% occupied, and my recent KL1069 was fully occupied according to the crew.

On landing at AMS, the crew listed off a load of connecting information, I think the only non European destination was Chengdu (Tel aviv as well).

Some French and Asian folks onboard KL1069 heading to CWL, quite possibly students.

It is good that they are full! But it is a pain for me as i might have to use Heathrow for my return or layover for 12 hours as when i've looked at prices for my flight to portland the earlier returns are really expensive! I wish they'd add a 4th flight!
The last time i used them to head to the US i was surprised by the different destinations from Norway to quite a few southern France cites to even Paris as well and of course people travelling long haul as well.

While checking to see if KLM will send any bigger aircraft in for the France and Italy games in the Six Nations in February i noticed that the overnighting aircraft that operates the 06.00 departure was an E190. It looks like that between the 7th January and 15th February Monday to Fridays only the 06.00 departure will be an E190. This does coincide with Flybe suspending Rome, Milan, Berlin, Munich and Faro during that period so i'd imagine that was the reason for the upgrade.
And i didn't find any bigger aircraft especially for the Six Nations sadly.

3 years ago on this date i flew from Cardiff Airport for the first time! I flew to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol with KLM to catch a flight to Portland in Oregon with Delta to meet my now girlfriend for the very first time! And my fascination with aviation started on that day!
Roll on Xmas when I'll get to spend time with her again! And as an added bonus i get to fly to the US again from Cardiff!

Amsterdam is a nice city to take a walk around in. The Panorama terrace at AMS is also cool to spend some time. Although not sure if you fancy that for 12 hours after a overnight Transatlantic flight from the US!

Looking to book Cardiff to New York in early February, coming out half the price going via Amsterdam rather than Dublin. It seems a shame to go a few hundred miles east to come back again but at those prices, it is a no brainer. Its a shame as the immigration via Dublin appealed to me.

I'd imagine that the price is more expensive because Flybe are reducing the amount of seats on the DUB route with the base becoming all E175.
I've heard a few people say about flying east to go west but to me i consider it no different than just driving to Heathrow or Gatwick.
It'll be weird for me in a few weeks time as it'll be the first time flying to the US from Cardiff and not using KLM!

How did from Bristol with EI or direct from DUB compare? It's likely it's the transatlantic flight that would be driving the price.

My latest video is all KLM an airline I've flown with many times including my first flight from Cardiff Airport!

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
