I currently own one of these handsets, and just wondered if anyone else does also, and has experienced any problems with it...?

Mine has frozen recently a couple of times if i dont use it for a prolonged period of time, and the only way to unfreeze it seems to be connect it up to the mains and charge it a little. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: The Apple iphone

Oh dear! I don't have one but my sister purchased one and it suffered from similar problems so she took it back and changed it for something else. Having said that, my wife has a Samsung phone (can't remember the model number) and that keeps crashing as well. I've a feeling it's just a case of the manufacturers getting ahead of themselves a little bit by trying to do one better than their competitors all the time.

I'd be tempted to take it back for an exchange at least. If you leave it too long you will loose your right to do that.

Re: The Apple iphone

Indeed. I had a 14 day trial period from the date you buy, but that has long passed. Be worth popping down to my local O2 shop i think and explaining the problem. Thanks anyway.

Re: IPhone & Smart Phones

I purchased a Samsung Wave a few weeks ago.

It has a number of applications but the majority are games rather than apps that serve a purpose.

The phone has built in Opera for surfing the web. I don't mid using but it would be nice to be given a choice rather than being told what browser to use.

Overall I have been happy with the phone and it's connectivity. It is like a cheap equivalent to the iPhone so I can't complain although more apps wouldn't go a miss.

I just bought the wife a Sony Ericcson Arc S and I have to say it is fantastic, the Android market is superb and I can see Apple will have to up its game befors the green man takes over.

I just got my hands on a new Sony Ericsson, XPERIA Ray. Got to admit its really good and has A HD camera along with a load off over stuff.

Got the hands set for free with on using 02 http://shop.o2.co.uk/mobile_phone/p...+-+Phrase_Sony+Ericsson+Xperia+Ray_GGL_Phrase and only pay about £18.50 per month. That includes unlimited texts, 200 Mins call time to any other network or landline. Plus also another 250 mins 02 to 02 call time along with 500meg of Data usage (Internet)

That's a very good deal Lbaspotter!

My Blackberry Torch is up for renewal soon and I have had no problems with it to be fair!

I'm tempted to renew for the new BB Torch but am tempted to go for a HTC...

Can anyone help...?

I know a few people who swear by HTC. They claim they're the next best thing from an iPhone. I'm with Vodafone 300 min anytime any network, unlimited texts and 5MB browsing for £25.00.

So do I Aviador, which is why I am very tempted to at least try one. I suppose if I don't like it, once my contract runs out, I can go back to my Blackberry....

My brother-in-law has a HTC phone too and he loves it.

Let me know how it goes. My contract is up for renewal soon so I'm starting to keep my eyes peeled. I'd be interested to know how you get on with whatever you end up with.

Well first of all HTC are brilliant phones, the Sense interface is absolutely amazing it one of the best software on the market, challenges IOS really well, as for the hardware they are brilliant, designed different to most not all are made out of plastic unlike other manufactures. There only two things i find with HTC is the thickness of the phone they aren't the slimiest on the market and this thickness can make it some times difficult to hold the phone comfortable, the other is the battery life there phones do suck up a lot of battery, just like all smart phones out there, but they seem to have the worst battery life in my personal experience with HTC.

Now for Blackberry, i would say stick with them if you want a phone that puts communication above the rest, see it's alright having one these top phones that play games and have apps but if it can't hold a decent signal for a phone call it pretty useless. Also i would recommend having a look at the Blackberry Bold 9900 i know a few people who got and i must say it is a pretty good phone.

I've had the HTC desire for the last year and a half and the only issue I ever had was the speaker broke, and that was fixed within days (by virgin). Sturdy as a rock, I have a tendency to drop my phone and the worst that happened was a tiny chip in the corner - lets see an iPhone put up with being dropped every couple of weeks, I know way too many people who have broken theirs by dropping it.

I got the HTC one just the other day and so far it seems really nice, its light, very nicely designed and has a brilliant camera, haven't dropped it so far, and don't want to as it seems slightly more delicate than the desire.

So I agree the HTC's are great phones, but I found the Desire took a lot of battery... the one, hasn't been as bad in all honesty.

The HTC one x is sturdy and with can stand being dropped ten feet from a balcony, dropped it whilst on holiday so of had a mid life crisis when I did. the battery one the one x is good I must admit just shame you can't replace it.

I have to say, I've seen an awful lot of cracked screens on the iPhone, so much so that I've decided to go for the Galaxy SIII when my contracts up for renewal. One of my work colleagues has only had he iPhone for three weeks and her screen has a crack in it already. When I asked how she's done it she said she'd dropped it but it was only a short fall and it still cracked. To be honest, don't most people drop their phones at some point? Surely the iPhone should withstand the odd knock or two? My original Nokia 8210 was great it used to get knocked around and dropped on the floor all the time without sustaining so much as a scratch. How things change.

Bit of advice about the S3 the back of it is thin plastic so if you take it off be careful as it has be known to snap under the slightest pressure, also be careful when downloading apps from the android market as a lot of them contain viruses. I have the HTC one x wonderful phone but cause it runs off android and the fact google try to control your phone and advertise on every opportunity they get im going to be replacing it in January for the iphone 5, six months after i got the phone.

Fair point about Google Android but Apple have the same monopoly over their products. Is it not possible to download anti virus programmes for an android phone? Also does anybody happen to know if Apple intend to sort out the problem with the iPhone screens breaking? I mean £400-£500 for a phone, it shouldn't break so easily really, should it?

I've had an iPhone 3GS since they came out, dropped it numerous times and it has been fine, no cracks and the body is more scratched than the screen (mainly from being in the same pocket as coins).

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
