I'm planning to buy a new phone, what is better? Samsung S4 or Iphone 5?

I compared my Galaxy S2 with the iPhone 4 and the Galaxy S2 walked all over the iPhone 4.

It looks like the S4 compares well with the iPhone 5

One thing with smartphones is that it isn't just the power of the Hardware but its the optimization of the software that the key. IOS is better optimized software compared to Android, so it doesn't really need more power as the software and hardware work well together and there only one manufacturer of the phones, apple. With Android you have different manufacturers who use different versions of Android so it has to be pretty universal meaning the software isn't always optimized for that phone. I ain't a Isheep but i gotta admit IOS wins hands down in this case.

It's all a matter of opinion. The Samsung 4 product compares well and in many cases is far superior to the iPhone 5. The adaptability of the Samsung 4 with it's changeable user interface and the speed of the Samsung 4 device outperforms the iPhone 5. The iPhone does have a sturdier feel about it but it, whereas the S4 can come across as been a bit clumsy looking with it's plastic casing. In fairness the iPhone breaks easily when subject to a fall whereas the S4 will tend to survive.

Having different manufacturers using Android only adds to choice which you just don't get with the iPhone. I would question whether Apple really has such a strong supportive customer base. The i products incompatibility with other devices will eventually hinder their long term success.

Hi guys! I bought xperia z yesterday. It is better that iphone 5 and the specs is good. It is also water proof and scratch free. Quad core and 13mp camera.

Good phone isn't it? i got it too and i can't fault it one bit, the waterproof has saved my phone from being turned into a expensive brick....

Took a few pictures with the Galaxy S3 yesterday.

First the night time pictures where I think the S3 camera struggles. These are of the Birmingham German Market from a couple of weeks ago. The second picture is of one of the bars, the lights above are actually rows of twinkle lights but the camera burns them out making it look like one long strip. There is also a lot of noise even with the ISO adjusted and on the last two photo's you can see ghost lighting on the left.

These are of Kingsbury Water Park taken last weekend, again with the S3. The light was fading fast on the last picture and you can see the quality deteriorates compared to the others, it was also zoomed in more than the previous photos and I think the S3 has digital zoom which adversely affects the image.

On the whole I would be pretty impressed with those pictures. Taking into consideration the light is at it's poorest at this time of year. The night shot's really don't look bad at all considering they're point and shoot pictures without the pre tweaking you can do with a DSLR camera. I love the picture subjects as well so thanks for sharing them.

I took this with my Samsung Galaxy S2 last week.

Great photo, the sky looks stunning. There has been some beautiful sunrises this week but I've not been able to get pictures of any.

Still looks great and it doesn't pixelate when you go the the enlarged version. What phone did you say you had again?

It's a Samsung. S4 I think, or S5.

When the light is good the camera is excellent but it quickly deteriorates when it darkens. It also doesn't handle zoom too well. I guess that can be said for most basic cameras so overall I'm happy with it.

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
