Looks like LBA might struggle to break 4m pax this year the way things are going, unless someone increases capacity to alternative destinations to offset all these lost Turkey passengers. You have to wonder if Turkey will ever become quite as popular again?
Jet2 should just focus on where EZY,FR,BY are going
Cape Verde,Egypt,Morocco and Tunisia big money makers and winter sun too

Whilst that is a very valid point, unfortunately it's not just as simple as that. The whole infrastructure and bed capacity needs to be available and in the case of Cape Verde specifically that just isn't there at the moment.
They are of course also already serving (or going to serve) Egypt and Morocco so the shift has certainly started..
This year is going to be a very tough year for the industry as a whole, mainly thanks to BN and DT, but Turkey does have it's own already well documented issues, so definitely a space to watch

New route to Tivat, weekly on Mondays from May 10th 2027.

Credit to Seanm for the heads up.
Thats a surprise, and welldone jet2 offering the more niche routes. Are perhaps jet2 seeing whats going off in the market esp in turkey and offering some new routes but maybe cutting back on the frequency of some turkish routes, testing the water kinda thing?

Think @White Heather might be onto something. With 3 new routes announced either turkey is been reduced dramatically to make way (the timings of routes doesn’t suggest so) or we are getting another additional aircraft with further frequency increases coming.

I know HRG/SSH were dropped for summer but wonder if they’ll bring them back.

3 new routes all niche. (Before you all start I know Santorini was previously served).

It really isn't that simple. There is a gap in the market but massively going after it isn't going to good. Hence they are cautious with growth. easyJet and Ryanair have already indicated that Morocco is the massive next destination for them and that is where growth is. Look alone at Ryanair in Morocco - massive network.

Egypt is a big winner for easyJet given they were able to take full advantage of Thomas cook exiting the market coupled with the market never really recovered from Monarch also exiting the market. So easyJet took full advantage of the UK market wanting this. Just look at there winter network to Egypt out of the UK this winter. And the growth of easyJet holidays too which will do really well in this market.

TUI is none comparable given 0 growth in terms of airframes. Like they don't grow really. They only shift the deck chairs on the deck and put them into different bases.

They are not "big money makers" when you're new to the market by the way.

Was on a cruise familiarisation trip late May and we disembarked Kotor (to let another group of agents on) and had to get a transfer over the (slow) border to Dubrovnik - the relatively short distance took 3 hours although some of the scenery was like the fjords but with sunshine. The DBV LBA flight was completely full and it's a stunning part of the world. it's cracking to see Tivat emerging as Kotor is lovely and only a few minutes away. My colleagues were not complimentary about Tivat airport however - overcrowded and tiny!!!!!!

I agree Kotor is amazing and if I remember the setting for the airport is spectacular.

What I dont understand is why DBV isnt more freuquent. I use Bergerac and flights are always full (despite extortionate prices) yet only one a week!

Increase frequency. Dilute yield. Dilute yield = less revenue / profit.

So they’ve got the pretty sweet spot.

I looked at the CAA data for 2025 and in total LBA handled just short of 200k passengers to all Turkish destinations. So even if it dropped by 30%, that’s ‘only’ 60k of the 4.5m.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
