Presumably as you are taking off at 5pm which means you would have less than 2 hours in there. Some, presumably not you, would then complain that it was poor value for money or find something else to moan about. That is probably why.

If you really want to book it I would write to them explaing you acknowledge that fact and say
, if booked, that you would not complain later about the short amount of time you might end up having in the lounge and see what they say.

It's no big deal really, I only normally go in for an hour and I use my Priority Pass so it doesn't cost me anything, I just think it's bonkers as we have flights up to 8pm leaving in the winter months. You could even go in at 2pm and leave at 4pm.

Used LeedsBradford for the first time in 2026 on Saturday and returned on Monday. Flew out with KLM/Air France to Paris via Amsterdam and returned from Bucharest via Amsterdam with TAROM/KLM.

On Saturday the departure was at 10.00 and I got to the airport around 08.00. I was hand luggage only and had checked in online. Security was really quick with no queues and I was in the departure lounge in no time. Headed over to the new part where KLM depart from and it was noticeable how busy the airport was considering it was January but although the airport was busy it didn't feel over crowded. No lounge visit this trip as I was travelling in economy so just tried to see the aircraft on the apron, it was very foggy but thankfully KLM were able to land and we boarded pretty quickly (the flight was about 80% full on an E175) and I was off to Amsterdam.
The return was on Monday and I arrived on the 16.45 arrival. On the first attempt the aircraft looked to not even attempt to land and went around due to the fog, I feared at one point we might be diverting to Manchester but the pilots gave it a try and at that attempt landed in the fog. Going through immigration was pretty quick especially considering it was a full flight (approx 95% LF on an E190), though there was no e-gates just manned booths of which there looked to be at least 8 of them and I think speeded up the process. Roughly 15 minutes after landing I was out in the car park and was home about 1 hour after landing.
Overall departing and arriving it was a really good experience despite the all the construction work, will be interesting to see what the airport is like when all that is finished. Atm I've got no other flights booked that involve LBA so this could be my only trip through the airport this year.

Another sound experience last Sunday morning flying out to LPA with Jet2. Security was very quick and friendly, and I must say I think the Avro lounge has improved somewhat! The staff were very engaged and attentive, and it did seem a lot cleaner than previous visits and the way the food is presented was much better.

Maybe it helps it’s winter and not peak time.

Arrival last night and parked down on stand 22. Bit of a wait to fill the 2 buses up as some passengers were taking their sweet time to get off the plane! But perhaps they didn’t realise they were holding up the buses..

Arriving at the terminal was a bit chaotic, the tiny metal gate that allows passengers through from the bus and into arrivals is not good and caused bit of a scrum with people pushing and shoving to get through. But passport control was very quick and efficient. In total about 35 mins from touchdown to getting landslide.

Flew out yesterday on FR2503 to Faro. The airport was very quiet, through security in 5 mins, went to the Avro Lounge.

Have people seen the TripAdvisor reviews which I have to agree with. Such a let down compared to the old lounges. £25 each entrance then an extra £7 for a small bottle of Prosecco. Food is very poor, a bit of boiled ham, Doritos and salsa and a few slices of cheese and crackers. Sausage and bacon sandwiches are available but it was 3pm and I didn't fancy one.
Everyone ranting on TripAdvisor and giving it 1 out of 5 as you can't give zero.
Such a shame after all the money that has been spent and is being spent on the refurbishment.

They trimmed back the offering compared to the old Yorkshire lounge as it wasnt making any money. The other lounge (681) however is a significant improvement on the Yorkshire lounge. It costs more but comes highly recommended.

There was a good review on here recently for the Avro lounge but overall the reviews are poor.

This is sonething you could raise at one of the forthcoming LBA community meetings.

@LBAYORKIE it was something I belive you raised at one of the previous meetings where I also attended. The response was just that they were aware of the issues raised but didn't comment any further. I suppose you could ask for an update as recent users of the lounge have been far from happy.

We arrived back last Thursday evening on LS250 from FUE and were parked on stand 19..Due to my wifes need, we were last off onto the ambulift, as efficent as always at Leeds and staffed by wonderful people of all ages..It was dark and didnt see much, but we were dropped off at the new entrance to passports, very efficently dealt with, all desks seem to be manned..We went through the improved baggage hall but were with hand luggage only..The staff pushed my wife out of the building and right across to where our transport was waiting..Previously I had to push her from the old passport through to the pick up point, so things have improved..When its finished will be the time for people to cast an opinion..

Half and half impressions are always unreliable..But from what I have seen I`d be very optimistic about the finished terminal..We`ll all have to be a bit more patient..

On a humourous note LBA have invested in a small tractor that spreads salt across all the walkways and pick up area just back from the terminal..Obviously its was staff training time and the operator must have had the salt dispenser open fully..Everybody and thing was getting utterly blasted with salt..2 cases were covered in it...Firstly a good investment by LBA and needed in winter and I`m sure once they are more experienced the spraying will be reduced..Another good experience which I cant fault..

Dont remember raising it, not really something that interests me, but I think it did crop up in one on WH's ACC reports.

The airport was very aware of the problems a full refurbishment would cause which is why they initially wanted to press ahead with a new terminal.

We are where we are and at least we can see the light at the end of the tunnel now.

It was around the time of some poor media coverage about the lounge soon after opening.

Question submitted for Baildon on Monday. Also asked a question about if we can expect "different" destinations coming as that is one thing that hinders actual airport usage support from Mrs Finger and I
Same here finger, using the eventbrite site I've submitted a question on runway length and the TDZs as in my opinion i feel it may deter operators esp long haul from using lba, im curious to hear what vince and the team say, so if its brought up if you can jot down what is mentioned, thanks

@LBA4EVER will do and am sure many others will be interested to know. However it's been said before that prohibitive costs are involved here so that could again well be the answer.
For everyone - I will report on anything that's different from Menston last year. Don't think another full report of the same things is necessary

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
