I am in AMS at the moment awaiting the late flight (+another 20 mins) and it was down for a 190 and it is a 295.
Tings can't be too bad.

A cheeseburger costs that at quite a few pubs now. There are cheeseburgers, and then there are cheeseburgers! Some are worth buying at that price some aren't.

Thats fine. I never eat in airports and if I dont think the price is acceptable, I don't buy wherever I am. Plenty will. Everything in airports is marked up by about 20% to cover the rent paid to the airport owners. You buy or you dont.
I do however understand that Monty's is supposed to be a higher quality of food and in a different league to Burger King.

We should be comparing burgers of a similar standard at other airports not at 'regular' junk food outlets.

What they need is a ‘rollover’ stand that does burgers and hotdogs ha ha, the rollover hot dogs though at Elland Road have gone up this season to £6

A quick search shows me that a cheeseburger (and fries) at Hawthorne Farm is a little under £10. About half the price of the Montys offering. I doubt the latter is twice as good!

They are actually ok at Hawthorne Farm. I had one a few weeks ago, but the burger is more of a patty. Very thin. Some burgers are much more substantial. Some have far more meat. Some are steak based. Some are Aberdeen Angus based. You get what you pay for.

Ultimately, nobody makes anyone buy them and if nobody does, no doubt Monty's will think again. From a personal point of view however, there are far bigger issues with LBA than the price of burgers right now, and those prices are not set by LBA anyway. At least there is another outlet so passengers have a cheap and more premium option if they really do need a burger.

LBA dont sell burgers. They let the space to the retailer who decide the prices. LBA have let space to a cheap burger specialist and one that charges more. Customers have two options and the third is not to buy. Simple .

What a bag of Si@T! that is, with incredibly slow service, cold food and staff that can't be arsed. Give me Monty's any day over Hawthorn Farm

Airport Food Is Always Expensive

One of the things most people just accept when flying is the obvious - airports are expensive. From parking charges to food and drinks, as well as airline catering if you're buying onboard, it’s no secret. Knowing that in advance, just pack your Aldi best sandwiches and take those instead. Job done!
